This place is fantastic. I find it really unacceptable when people post bad reviews which are wholly inaccurate. I refer specifically to a very bad review posted yesterday (5th August 2020), when, coincidentally, I was actually in Ammos Cafe at the time and witnessed how incredibly rude this person's female companion was to the lady (described as a "waitress", but who is, in fact the owner). This couple expected to be able to monopolise one of the balcony tables for three hours, right in the middle of the lunchtime period, having purchased only a bottle of water (and complained about the cost of it!) and when finally, the female begrudgingly ordered an avocado salad, but was told that it was off the menu and the owner explained that this was because the avocados were not good at this time of year, I actually watched the young woman, flick her hair and turn her back on the owner, look at the menu and then announce that there was nothing on the menu she wanted. The couple left at that point, which is probably just as well as I would certainly have said something to them! The young woman was British, I believe, and made me embarrassed to be British! My family and I have eaten both at Ammos and at their Italian restaurant a few doors away, numerous times during the past two weeks - we have ordered drinks, we have been offered complimentary drinks, and we have found them to be great people. Their food has been delicious and the hygiene absolutely fastidious. Their son is also a fantastic barman and cocktail maker and an all-round very nice professional and friendly young man. Perhaps rather than post inaccurate damaging reviews, the couple yesterday, and indeed the young man who posted the review, need to learn that good manners go a long way, and that a beautiful bar on the beach with a balcony over the sea does NOT become their personal office for the price of a...
Read moreService was extremely disappointing. I ordered a gyro to-go from the kitchen—while the chef didn’t speak much English, he got my order right, so that wasn’t an issue. The real problem was the front-of-house staff. The two female employees I interacted with seemed visibly unhappy to be there. I even had to go find them myself, as they were sitting at a table rather than helping customers. I waited for someone to take my payment, and when they finally came over, all I was asked was what I was paying with, only to wait even longer for someone else to process it.
To make matters worse, I had asked in advance if they accepted cards, but when I went to pay, the terminal didn’t work. I even had to bring my food back to the kitchen myself after walking back and forth. It felt like the servers were simply annoyed the entire time.
Food might be fine, but the service needs serious improvement - it honestly put me...
Read moreI went there for lunch and graped a Gyros Pita. After order the guy in the kitchen said „Sit down and wait 10 Minutes“ first impression was horrible but I gave him one more chance and taste the pita....It was the worset Pita ever, they had no Taziki and gave me Greek Yoghurt without any herbs and the meat was cold and not crispy, it taste like cooked meat. The reason for that is they cut the fresh and crispy meat from the gyros and stored it in a plastic bucket next to the grill. When you are lucky it is possible to get a fresh crispy pita. After the pita I tried to talk to the owner and want the share my impressions but he only said „ I am the boss If you dont like it is okay bye“ Very unfriendly guy and bad service. I want to gave him construtive feedback but only big EGO and ignoranze...
