Read moreOne of the restaurants on the sea shore in the village Almirida. Here it is usually quite busy and not without reason, because the food is good and the service fast and friendly. Also the cutlery is very good, with nice sharp knifes. We ordered the lamb chops here, zucchini balls, tuna salad and mousaka. The bread that came with the food is fresh and served in one piece (not pieces of bread from other tables that have been thrown together). There is a choice from white and brown bread. We also get a free bottle of water on the table. The rosé we have ordered - a house wine - is a simple, light wine. The tuna salad contains an onion, lettuce, egg, cucumber, tomato, cabbage, delicious olives, spring onion, chives, parsley and tuna of course. The French fries are homemade and crispy. We get 4 large lamb chops with a reasonably good flavour. The mousaka is fine. After the meal we get a free (rather large) bottle of raki, and cold ice cream with delicious coconut cake.
And of course we came back again. Is it now suddenly Dimitris Fish Tavern? Or Dimitris Traditions Family Tavern, as the it says on the menus? We order a spicey cheese dip, a mixed salad, a chicken souvlaki and a turkey with pepper sauce. The menu is still extensive with meat, fish and chicken dishes, omelettes, pasta and many entrees. We immediately get a bottle of water on the table and wet wipes to clean the hands. The bread comes with butter. The fries are clearly homemade and crisp. Both the chicken and the turkey are very tender. Tasty sauce, a little bit on the salty side pherhaps. Everything was excellent, and again after the dinner we get a dessert and a small...
Read moreWent here a couple of times last week....beautiful food! We didn't book a table but managed to get one each time, although we did over hear others who had pre booked. These were busy every night and yet they still got us in. You can see jow hard they work as it's the same staff each evening. Food was beautiful, especially for what it was. The steak wasn't a rubbish little piece like you get in the uk,it would have cost a fortune for the steak I had got at dimitris if it was in the uk. We also tried the slouvakis, schnitzel, seafood platter, side dishes and it was all lovely. We didn't bother trying the other restaurants as they are all similar prices and we knew this place was good from our 1st visit. We do usually like to try somewhere different each time but we really did enjoy everything here. You even get a free raki and a slice of cake at the end of the meal which my family are desperate to know what it was as it was delicious. Couldn't fault this place for food or service, they made no mistakes and made our meal out enjoyable. It seems to be a mixed place of both locals and tourists and like I say its packed out every night with a steady flow during the day time. Thank you to...
