Taverna Spitiko — Restaurant in Municipality of Archane - Asterousia

I relied on positive reviews on Google to choose this restaurant, but I was ultimately very disappointed.

My wife and I ordered chicken dishes (roast chicken and chicken Milanese), and they were dry. The dishes weren't even served with a sauce to make them somewhat pleasant.

The quality of service was deplorable: Our cokes were served without glasses, we had to reuse our water glasses for the coke. The waiting time for the dishes was too long (over 45 minutes...), even though they are not particularly complicated dishes. I asked the waiter for some sauces to go with our dishes, but he completely forgot.

We had a disappointing experience here. The salad was nice. However, firstly the pork schnitzel arrived very overdone. The rest of the table then had to wait a further 20 mins for our main course. Chicken souvlaki was a tiny portion and very bland, with unseasoned chicken, two tiny slivers of pita and a “salad” which was a few leaves drenched in olive oil. he restaurant was not busy at all (there was only one other table of people there) so not sure why the food and service were so poor!

The town square is very nice but all the other restaurants we tried were far better...

Best restaurant in town (including Bakaliko and it's tourist advertising and tour busses. Really great food, lovely young ladies with great English, and a relaxed but classy atmosphere. Food here for us was the best in town with cheap house wine that was fantastic. We ate next door at Bakaliko the next day due to reviews, but here was much better and more casual and quiete.
