Extremely disappointed with the service of this place!
To start the night off, we were waiting for a table at the front, the waiter just walked right by without even a hello or a smile, not even a I’ll be with you in a minute, can you please wait, NOTHING. So I walked into the restaurant to see if I could ask if I could have a table. This was even worse, I stood there like a ghost, both waiter and I guess the boss just walked right by me, it was like I was invisible. After some time we were finally seated. Took some time to place an order, but we finally did.
Ordered a fresh fish and a traditional beef dish. The beef dish was ok, nothing special but just ok. The fish on the other hand was cooked on one side, and the other side was very undercooked, we couldn’t separate it from the bone. We told the waiter, he happily said he would make another if we liked, so we happily excepted. We ordered a plate of fried potatoes some 10 minutes before this, which never came out as the waiter forgot to place the order.
After all this, our appetite was destroyed, too much waiting, sour service, so we decided to take the fish home when it was done.
My opinion is that the service could be heavily improved, hospitality is about customer care, and if you can’t keep the customer happy you have no restaurant.
Sorry to say but, I don’t recommend this place, based on my experience.
Also any restaurant that charges a “service fee” note “self tip to themselves” is so wrong , they say it’s for bread (which we didn’t ask for) Anyway, there are much better...
Read moreOur experience at Jimmy's: To summarize- I would not recommend it. Vegetarian, Muslims and Jews, I recommend you guys not to go here In more detail- Firstly, we ordered food at the restaurant and waited 50 minutes to get it. When we tried to remind them about it, they were weirdly mad. We asked the waiter first not to bring us any meat cause we are vegetarian and for religious reasons. We ordered the Jimmy salad, and they got us that with pork; we told them we wanted them to make a new salad and, of course, if it were our mistake, we would pay for the previous one, but as I mentioned before, we told them we were vegetarian. The guy yelled at us in front of all the customers and asked why we didn’t mention to the waiter again that we are vegetarian, which I got frustrated about, but we said we would pay for both, just that they will make a new one for us. After 30 seconds, we received the salad. It was obvious that they didn’t make a new one (there was one piece of meat left) and they just tried to removed the prosciutto pieces. My more religious and vegetarian fiancé didn’t even touch the salad because of that. When we got the bill, we were charged for both salads. When we mentioned that they didn’t make a new one, so the charge was absorbed to pay for a new salad, they said they would call the police. We said never mind, not wanting to deal with them any longer, and they were mad when they saw we had cash but preferred to pay by card. The food was ok… but as an overall experience I would...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Rude owners, average food. Best to avoid.
The food was mediocre. My partner was quite unhappy with the food, I thought it was average. In any case, nothing to write home about and no reason to return. Also, it's on the expensive side.
The issue was at the end when paying. We felt the owners were rude and deceiving and we left disappointed. They have a card reader but, amazingly, "the signal was bad and it didn't work". Cash only. They claimed the network has been bad for the entire year across the island. They point to the ATM in the center of the village but that ATM charges high fees. We managed to pay everywhere across the island by card and every other restaurant assured us the network works just fine. So Jimmy's doesn't want to use the card reader (you can guess why). During this discussion they were also rude, telling us that "you can wait half an hour if you want until the card reader will work", without trying stuff like going outside to get better signal and without any nice gestures (which one would do if the card reader was indeed not working). Finally, we paid cash and asked for the receipt. We got something that looked like an order note and a summation, that didn't look official at all.
To the restaurant owners -- if you insist being in the tourism and hospitality business, learn to respect...
