I recently visited Cabana Mare Beach Club to enjoy some food and drinks while relaxing by the pool. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling excluded and disappointed with their hospitality.
Upon arriving at the club, I noticed that there was no one at the entrance to greet guests. This lack of initial attention didn't set a great tone for the rest of my visit. When I tried to find a sunbed by the pool, I approached one of the servers to inquire about availability. Despite the beach bar being only half full and numerous sunbeds available, I was directed to talk to the supposed hostess.
However, the hostess was nowhere to be found upon my arrival. I politely asked if someone could assist me in finding a vacant sunbed, and after some waiting, a man, who I assumed was the manager, approached me. Regrettably, he didn't introduce himself and instead brusquely asked what I wanted. When I expressed my desire for a sunbed by the pool, he claimed that everything was reserved, which was evidently not true as there were no signs of reservations on the sunbeds.
His dismissive attitude and unwillingness to help left me feeling excluded and unappreciated as a customer. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over a decade and understand the importance of making guests feel welcome and valued. Unfortunately, this aspect was severely lacking in my experience at Cabana Mare Beach Club.
Despite the beautiful setting and the potential of the venue, the unprofessional behavior of the manager tainted my overall impression. As someone who lives in Chania, I had hoped for a better experience during my visit to Cabana Mare. I genuinely love the idea behind the club, but I cannot overlook the lack of respect shown by its management.
In conclusion, I urge Cabana Mare Beach Club to take customer service more seriously and treat all guests with the same level of attention and respect. Despite the low number of people in the beach club, the service was remarkably slow, and the staff seemed to have no sense of urgency in bringing our drinks. To make matters worse, they failed to provide a separate ice bucket for our beverages, making us question their attention to even basic details.
The Jacuzzi, which should have been a relaxing highlight of our day, turned out to be a major letdown. It was shockingly dirty, and it was evident that proper maintenance was sorely lacking.
Being the number 1 reservation at the club with the highest bill, we expected to be treated with some level of priority and respect. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite. The staff treated us as if we were the cheapest customers, showing little regard for our needs or preferences.
Adding to our frustration, the beach club enforced an irrational minimum charge of 1500 euros for two boxes. This exorbitant requirement seemed completely out of touch with reality, considering the lackluster service and overall experience we had.
When we reached a point where we couldn't consume more alcohol and requested to pay 1200 euros instead of the full 1500 euros, we were met with outright hostility and refusal. The staff's attitude towards us was unprofessional and disrespectful, making us feel like second-class patrons.
On a relatively positive note, the food at Cabana Mare Beach Club was decent. While a bit expensive, it met our expectations in terms of taste and quality.

When we arrived at the Cabana Mare, you will be impressed with the atmosphere and the decor, however our experience was a complete failure! The host was absolutely ridiculous, rude, IMPOLITE, telling us that there is no place available for us to sit, when you could clearly see the empty seats by the pool. In addition when some people behind us were waiting, the HOST surprisingly he was able to find some space for them! Despite that we were send to find by OURSELVES empty space by the beach. We could see that a member of staff that was in charge of the area next to the beach but no intention whatsoever to approach us and help us finding a seat. Regardless that we were more than happy to go and ask him for help, as soon as we approach him straight away he turned us down AGAIN saying that there is no available space. When again you could clearly see at least 5 seats available. Finally, before we left we attempted one last time to ask another member of staff if it could possible to help us, but AGAIN, I think we all know the answer to that!!!
