A Feast for the Eyes, a Test of Patience We visited Achinos - Seaside for lunch, drawn in by its reputation and its undeniably spectacular location. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a chic, airy design that perfectly complements the stunning ocean views. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere promises a memorable afternoon. In some ways it was, though not entirely for the right reasons. Let's start with the positives: the food is quite good. While not revolutionary, our dishes were well-presented, fresh, and flavorful. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked sea bream, Greek salad and three Greek tacos that showed a clear competence in the kitchen. Paired with the sound of the waves, the culinary side of the experience was more than acceptable—it was genuinely pleasant. A solid high mark for the chefs and the location. However, the entire experience was soured by the attitude of one of our waiters, an older gentleman who carried himself with an air of arrogance and disdain that was truly baffling. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel less like welcome guests and more like an inconvenience. When we asked a simple question about the menu, it was met with a barely-concealed scoff and a look that suggested we were wasting his time. It was a display of sheer rudeness that left us stunned. We tried to relax the atmosphere just by saying “calimera” or responding “paracalo”, but this old man didn’t even try to say “thanks”, “you’re welcome “,… In stark contrast, a special mention must go to his younger colleague. This charming young man seemed genuinely embarrassed by his coworker's behavior. He repeatedly came to our table to smooth things over, always with a warm smile, refilling our glasses and checking if everything was to our liking. You could feel him trying to compensate for the hostile atmosphere created by the other waiter, and we were incredibly grateful for his professionalism. In conclusion, Achinos - Seaside is a restaurant at war with itself. It has a breathtaking setting and a commendable kitchen, but the entire experience is held hostage by one shockingly unprofessional individual. It’s a profound shame that the hard work of the chefs and the kindness of the junior staff can be completely overshadowed by the arrogance of a single person. Would I go back? I honestly won’t come back. The food and the view are a powerful draw, but the risk of once again being made to feel like a nuisance makes me seriously hesitate. A beautiful place, regrettably stained by an ugly attitude. Sir, if you don’t like address people, change your position.

We visited Achinos restaurant and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was fresh and delicious – we truly enjoyed every bite. They even have a talented sushi chef, which makes the menu even more special. During our dinner, we were delighted by live music from a saxophone player, which created a unique and relaxing atmosphere. A special thanks goes to our waiter Stefanos, who was simply amazing. From the very beginning, he took care of us with a smile, was very attentive, recommended excellent dishes and alcoholic drinks, and always made sure we were happy. His professional yet friendly attitude made us feel truly welcome. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a combination of excellent cuisine, great atmosphere, and top-notch service. We will definitely come back!

Utterly unreal!!! Arguably the best dinner I’ve had in years. Kind staff, flavorful food, decently priced. Beautiful view of the ocean and a little church on the water. I ordered the grilled octopus (amazing, succulent), the calamari (a little salty but yummy) and the Tzatziki (the most fresh I’ve ever had!!) If I’m ever back in crete, anywhere on the island, I would make a serious effort to come back here. Thanks for a lovely meal!!
