FABRICA IS FABULOUS! 😀
My friend and I first went here in mid June one evening to "roof top dine" whilst the sun was setting. We both wanted seafood. We were advised to try the grilled sea bass with butter, lemon and dill sauce. Accompanied by grilled vegetables. Mine with the sauce on, hers with the sauce on the side. Perfectly cooked fish. Delicate tasting sauce. Delicious vegetables.
We then returned for the next 3 nights as well. Yes, we had the fish again. Twice each. But, we also tried the Calamari (which I've now eaten 3 times). The plain omelette with grilled mushrooms. Chicken Souvlaki. The spaghetti with Napolitana sauce, I asked for a little cream and chilli to be added, delicious. And so many mouth watering desserts, thank you Antonia. 🤤😋😍
All the food I had here was fresh, delicious and served the way I/we ordered it. There was never any problem with us asking for roasted potatoes instead of fries, sauce on the side, extra mushrooms, extra vegetables. The staff are very accommodating to requests.
I've enjoyed many different dining experiences is this 1 restaurant. Roof top with setting sun, cold beers, and only 2 other diners. Downstairs in the hussle and bustle of the main area, where we people watched, made new friends, had great conversations amongst the sound of "Yassss Playze!" I've also returned a couple of times to have late lunch/early dinner, where I've had the entire restaurant to myself. I felt comfortable, included, entertained, but also I could quietly sit and relax.
All the staff here treated my with warmth, kindness and politeness. The menu is so varied and extensive I'll have to keep returning over the years to get through it all. The great thing is they also cater for vegetarians or vegans as well as meat and seafood lovers.
FABRICA and Yiannis are institutions in Koutouloufari for over 30 years now. I actually met people that have been coming here for over 20 years, some since the beginning. The man is an Entertainer that wants people to enjoy his restaurant.
I stayed very near by to FABRICA. Each day I'd hear, "Hello! Welcome!" But I knew that all was well in Koutouloufari Village when I heard the first "YASSSS PLAYZE!!" of the day. It made me feel happy.
Do yourself a favour. Have lunch, dinner, coffee, an afternoon snack, dessert. If you don't just once, you'll wish you had. 😉😊
((I've seen a few negative things written about Yiannis. 🙄😒 To suggest that he is "arrogant and rude" (this woman didn't even go inside), "very present, disturbing" (you have no sense of fun), or even "drunk" (aren't you the person that drank Raki with Yiannis?) are absolute insults to this man. Insulting also to his loyal customers that have been dining here for decades. Possibly insulting to the Village as well. He is an Entertainer as I mentioned above. If you cannot see this then you do not deserve to dine at this place, stay home...
Read moreThe haloumi was good. The main courses were below average for the village. My main concern is that the owner doesn't let his employees use the credit card machine. He had decided to leave near the end of our meal and I wanted to pay. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to pay, so we were stuck there. It was hot with no air conditioning at 1pm and I have a crying 5 month old baby and we were supposed to just wait till the owner finished his errands and come back before we could pay. So we just sat out front for 15 minutes after our meal trying to coddle our baby and wait for the owner to come back. I asked if we could come back later and pay when the owner came back and they refused to let us leave. The owner never came back, so I eventually took money from an ATM and overpayed for the meal because I wasn't given change. I have no idea why the owner doesn't let his waiters use a credit card machine. Not trusting your...
Read moreWe went for dinner but it turned out to be a tad chaotic. There was one waiter taking orders, the owner and his son bringing orders and cleaning tables. The waiter was struggling to cope with the number of orders, and understandably he wasn't the most warm character. The wait to get menus and order was quite a while. The moussaka I had was nice, as was the garlic bread with tomato and feta. Where it went wrong mainly was the mushroom risotto that my wife had. I've not seen a consistency like it before, it was rice drowned in cream and looked like a mushy porridge. No one checked on us to see if it was ok, and at the end when clearing plates we we told the waiter it wasn't nice we were told this was the first time anyone had said thatThere was no follow up by the owner. It wasn't a great experience for us, but having said that a table of people next of us had been coming on and off for 25years and had been treated brilliantly...
