Retro 20 — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Some times I wish I could give more then 5 🌟. I actually think this Restaurant deserves it.

This Food. This Restaurant. This small Family run place.

I like to read reviews and see photos of a place I'll visit for the first time.

The Satay Chicken. The BBQ ribs with sweet chilli.

I must say, I've lived, not visited, but actually lived, in a lot of Asian Countries. I've never had a SATAY sauce that even comes within miles of this one. Such delicate beautiful flavours. Thick and luscious. The chicken, it is fantastic.

And then. And then. The Ribs. Hahahaha! The meat actually melts in your mouth.

The food is Sublime! 😋

The feel that this place has. Relaxed. Welcoming. Oh. I forgot the view. The Aegean. The Mountains. The Village Street. You choose.

I've actually had conversations with the Owners about their food. She, a beautiful welcoming Dutch woman, holds the secret to the Satay sauce. He, a wonderful Greek man, is the one, as he explained to me, that can "feel" when the meat is ready for serving as he "Grills".

We had a great time dining here. We laughed. We talked. I danced.

If you are ever in Koutouloufari Village, do yourself a favour, go here.

One thing. I couldn't finish it all so took it home. I carefully warmed my left overs.

As a family of 5 we decided to eat here after reading reviews and found the setting pleasant enough though not as nice as some others around it. I enquired about the pulled beef burger at approx €14 and was told it’s was not spicy. I guess I didn’t expect it to be quite Chinese tasting in the sense that it was very sweet, in a loose sauce that soaked the bun. I couldn’t finish as it was too rich. The other meals were pretty ok but we asked for some mayo and BBQ sauce and they brought 6 small pots but charged us €10 for dips!!!!! which I thought was poor! Overall I would say average and we left with a bill of €112 including 1 drink each. The best part of the place was the service was very good with a small dessert & raki shot complimentary. Hello this is a restaurant you must go and eat in ..It is spotless and man walked in white socks all around and to bathroom with no dirt on socks . The Diner is Retro of Diners on Long Island New York ..I owned one and loved the 70’s music playing in background . The food is cooked to order as Diners do ,Fresh large juicy burgers to big to finish ..
