A true gem in Kokkari!

During our stay in Samos, Alfa in Kokkari stood out as one of the absolute highlights. The seafood here is simply outstanding — fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned with real care and respect for the ingredients.

We tried the grilled octopus, sea bass, and some local meze — everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with genuine warmth. The staff made us feel like welcomed guests rather than just customers, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant.

The atmosphere is lovely and on the beach. It’s a fine restaurant for foreigners who will remain pleased as they’re used to the higher prices and more refined ambience. However, a traditional Greek tavern would have been less expensive, actually had garlic in their mushrooms and better cooked at that, pesto on the burrata salad, more quantity of food, and a truer description of the dishes. For example, many of their fish are farmed which is something a local knows to ask. I don’t want to slight them as it was a very busy night when I went, and this is my personal preference in food.
