Vagelis Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

I had the funniest story with this place. I ended up eating souvlaki at another famous place in Kokkari and after thirty minutes my mind was playing games with me: “eat watermelons… EAT WATERMELONS”. The crisis went deeper after an hour, I really had to eat watermelon somewhere, but we could only find watermelon salad at a restaurant nearby. Then my partner saw Vagelis Bar. People all had this cute small plate of watermelons and melons (see pic). But we couldn’t sit here immediately, as the place is super popular. So we had to pitstop at the next bar and kept looking at available tables at Vagelis. After fifteen minutes we found a table. We visited this lovely family-run bar at least once a day during our stay, and each time was a highlight. From the very beginning, we were welcomed with kindness and warmth that made us feel right at home. The service was always friendly and attentive, with a personal touch that’s hard to find.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with great drinks, lovely people, and a genuinely positive vibe. You can tell it’s run with care, passion, and a real sense of hospitality.

Me and my boyfriend came to Vagelis bar nearly every night for at least one drink, either in passing or dancing until the late hours of the night. The family run bar is friendly and cheerful, and always delivers exceptional service. It has been run by this lovely family since the early 70s and has a very authentic feel and atmosphere.
