We were looking forward to our stay at this hotel, but our experience was unfortunately ruined from the moment we arrived, due to the deeply disrespectful attitude of the receptionist.
We had booked a suite at €100 per night — a price previously confirmed to us over the phone. Upon arrival, the receptionist immediately told us, in a cold and dismissive tone, that the price was incorrect because we were two people. When we politely asked if it would be possible to stay for just one night instead of two, she flatly refused, showing no willingness to discuss.
I repeatedly asked her to contact the manager (with whom I had spoken on the phone previously), but she categorically refused. She then demanded our passports — which we handed over out of respect, even though we were aware this was not legally required. She later used this against us as a way to pressure us into booking two nights, which felt like a form of blackmail.
The worst part was the discriminatory tone of her comments. She called us liars, said we were “typical Greeks,” and added, “If you were foreigners, you would have behaved better.” We were shocked and speechless.
Yes, I am Greek, but I live in France, and I chose to speak English simply because I’m not fluent in Greek. She interpreted this as some sort of deception, which was both unfair and insulting.
We are respectful, well-traveled people, and we have never been treated like this in any hotel around the world. Even after explaining the situation to the manager over the phone, no one intervened to deescalate or offer a solution.
To make matters worse, the receptionist openly called a third party in front of us and described us as “impostors.” This was not only humiliating but also completely unprofessional.
This could have been a pleasant stay, but instead, it became a bitter memory — all because of one staff member who clearly lacks the hospitality and professionalism expected in...
Read moreArrived in Kokkari after a week on the beautiful Patmos. Lemos hotel feels like going back in time to Greece in the 80’s. We had room 102 which was a suite with two balconies. ||Pros|Big, bright, clean room|Lots of storage |Comfy bed |Location is spot on with amazing views of the sea||Cons|Ridiculously small bathroom|First floor room was very noisy and no privacy on balcony as it’s at eye level with the passers by. I would suggest a room on the second floor may be better. I think double glazing would be helpful as passers-by always talking outside window as on main thoroughfare |Plug socket shortage and of the three, one was broken|Towel only changed twice in seven days.||We had a pleasant stay but Kokkari is not a revisit for me.||In Kokkari itself there is not much to do apart from sunbath, eat and drink. I know. That sounds terrible. Public transport wasn’t brilliant either and after other islands all having great bus links, this was a step back for us.|Fantastic selection or bars and restaurants but very little in the way of supermarket and shops. Not that keen on Kokkari main beach but spotted Calma/Sunrise beach on last day, which was not on any of my search’s so wish we...
Read moreI have stayed at Lemos Hotel at least 5 times. This hotel is perfectly located at the top of Kokkari Long Beach and a couple of minutes stroll from the centre of the town and all the restaurants, bars and shops. I believe Lemos Hotel has one of the best views in Samos. This hotel is immaculately clean with fresh towels and bed linen 6 days out of 7. The proximity to the beach is perfect. This is not a fancy hotel but you won't be paying fancy prices either. The rooms have balconies with fantastic views, fridge, safe, hairdryer, television, WiFi, a few emergency bottles in the bathroom, a shower and a relax feeling. Despoina who runs the hotel keeps it looking so homely. People come back year after year, as I do. I bring a travel kettle as I love my tea. Also a multi-socket block for gadgets. Samos is not like Santorini and Mykonos - thankfully. And you won't be paying stupid prices. In my opinion, Kokkari is perfect and Lemos Hotel...
