The place has a great location with a beautiful view, the personal was very polite and friendly, however the food didn’t live up to the expectations, maybe if you’re a tourist and not used to how delicious Greek food is you might appreciate it. It was presented in “sophisticated” way, the portions were pretty small and it lacked the taste. We were 4 people (again the waiters were very kind and gave us a table for 6 just because we wanted to be close to the water) we order multiple plates: 1- Country Salad what is supposed to be Χωριάτικη, lacked the taste, small portion and they serve it with “feta mousse” instead of actual feta like it’s supposed to be (I guess it’s more cost effective) 2- Γαύρος Μαρινάτος (marinated anchovies) which traditionally it comes in pieces of actual anchovies marinated in a plate of vinegar and oil but they serve 4 pieces of small bread topped with some chopped tomatoes and 1 pieces of anchovies each, not at all what marinated anchovies is supposed to be and it didn’t taste good. 3- cheese croquettes they were pretty decent but they serve 4 per dish which is again pretty small (traditionally restaurant serve 6 pieces) 4- steamed mussels which was very small plate with probably less then 15 pieces with less than average sauce. 5- grilled calamari it was ok yet very small portion 6- shrimp pasta it was above average in taste and the quantity was decent. We paid 104€ excluding tips (2 beers and 2 bottles of water) Overall I would say if you’re going for the view and the nice atmosphere then please do because it’s lovely, but if you’re hungry and need to have a good meal maybe this is not the...
Read more(4,4/5) We had dinner for two at Antimamalo in July 2023 and can strongly recommend it. It feels like a tavern turned bistro but not fully yet. You can sit right next to the sea which makes for a great atmosphere for dinner.
We ordered the greek salad, the grilled squid, the shrimp pasta and two glasses of wine. The squid and the shrimps were frozen products as the island’s waters are mostly known for medium sized fresh fish and lobsters, but this did not affect the taste. All three dishes were very tasty and well made with meraki by the chef.
The menu has mostly seafood options, some meat and a large list of starters. Some traditional Greek recipes are made in a modern way like the Moussakas and overall you will find interesting twists and solid presentation in their plates. There was a small but decent wine list, but I would prefer to see more by the glass options.
The service was very friendly and fast given how busy it was. It would be great to have some small free dessert or fruit in the end as is customary in greek restaurants or taverns.
Overall, Antimamalo was a pleasant surprise in Elafonissos where most places are classic greek taverns or very...
Read moreWe came to Elafonissi for three days, traveling from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. I generally travel often and I enjoy good food. I can say with full confidence that this experience met my expectations. In my opinion, it’s the best place on the island.
We received excellent service from the staff—always with a smile and a positive attitude. What left an especially strong impression was the honesty of the people. I asked if a certain dish was fresh, and they openly told me it wasn’t and that they didn’t want to lie. That kind of integrity is rare and appreciated.
Everything we ordered after that was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. Two main dishes, two appetizers, two drinks, and one soft drink, including the cover charge, came to €53.
I highly recommend it without hesitation. To conclude—and this is my personal opinion—it’s the most beautiful establishment around, ideal for couples to enjoy dinner in the evening while watching the sunset unfold right...
