Pita bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Elafonisos

Edit: food poisoning!

Coming back 6 hours after having eaten there and without having eaten anything else before or after. I have a serious food poisoning that ruined my day. I had: 1 wrapped pita with lamb (provatina) half a Greek salad.

I know the culprit has to be the meat as other people ate salad and are not sick. Also I didn't eat anything after, or before (except coffee) so there is no other possible food to blame.

I know lamb can be heavy but to get poisoning (vomiting and diarrhoea) there have to be more hygiene / meat preparation issues than that.

Seemed nice and busy apon arrival, although as we waited to order we were ready for 10-15 minutes and we kept asking for them to send someone to take our order and they weren't rushed and did not prioritise serving their customers. Finally when we got our food it was served nicely with big portion sizes. After we ate we both felt fatigued and had completely dry mouthes it was obvious their food had MSG in it. As we were walking to pay we saw the man who was cooking the gyros was sweating a lot and it seemed to be dripping...

We didn’t have the chance to taste the food because it was crowded.We ‘be been waiting for an hour and because we could couldn’t wait more, we left. When we cancelled the order they didn’t have the courtesy to apologize and they asked us to pay for the salad and the water. They should take the number of orders that they could manage and not in the name of money to set tables that shouldn’t exist. Very bad experience from service perspective .
