Golden Star — Hotel in Municipality of Elafonisos

We arrived on the island midday with no fixed plans. Most hotels are closed in October - as my Greek husband advises, it is winter soon. It was 28 degrees and the swimming is warm and the beaches are empty. The hotel was the only place open and I was sure it would be pricey. 35 euros later we were settled in to a small, clean room with a kitchenette space and a patio to soak up the sun in.||The beach across the street is fine to swim in. The large pipe on the sea bed brings in fresh water from the mainland. And you can hear the sounds of the waves all night long if you leave the shutters open.||The hotel is in the little town and very close to the shops and restaurants. A little bakery close to the harbour sells spanakopita which is perfect for breakfast. And there were more than one little grocery with fruit and other treats.||The two beaches out of town were a ten minute drive away and are calm and clear.||I enjoyed this little island so much I plan to return for much...

I was in Settember in this hotel for 4 nights and I only say "WONDERFUL", the spacious room with a little kitchen, the clening of the kind Popi, the position in front of the sea with a fantastic sunset in the evening, the kindness and the discretion of the owners Alexandra and Babis, there is only a noise of the waves of the sea during the night.|The price of 60 Euros x night in September is a little more than the other hotels or private rooms, but is a quality of comfort and fornitures that is with one step above of the others,of this beatiful insland with the carribean beach and sea !!|If you want, you can also have a good breakfast with a little difference more of the room price, always in front of the sea, that is only on the other side of the little street that devide the hotel and the beach, about 4 meters.|I suggest it for couples,family and quite people that love sea,tranquility and relax.|Thanks for all Alexandra,Babis and Popi and we hope to see you next years.|Antonio &...

We stayed at Golden Star for 10 days. Firstly the service from Alexandra and Harry was excellent! They were always available and always helpful. They do everything for the customer to make sure we were always happy. The location was perfect..beachfront, with umbrellas for us (free!) and also parking which is a must if you have a car. The location was walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and coffee. There is a mini market two shops away, so the location was perfect. The room was very clean and Alexandra always made sure the sheets were clean and we always had fresh towels. We found the whole stay relaxing and we will be back.
