TO AVOID DURING PEAK SEASON - The place itself is very nice and the food was good, but the service completely ruined the experience. From the beginning, we asked to be moved to a table in the shade. The first waiter actually told us it was possible, but later the floor manager came and, arrogantly, said it wasn’t allowed because “others were on the list” – meaning the people who had just arrived and were waiting, while we had already been seated. Meanwhile, other guests moved autonomously without any issue, which made it clear that our only “mistake” was naively asking to be moved. The lack of communication among staff was unbelievable, and the way it was handled made us feel dismissed and unwelcome.
When they finally did move us, despite two shaded tables being free, they made us sit on a stone bench without a cushion, as if to punish us for asking. (They said we couldn’t sit on the other one)
Later, when it came time to pay, the card machine repeatedly showed “Network Error.” Instead of admitting it was clearly a connection problem, they treated us as if we didn’t have any money, making us try multiple cards. Only after I insisted several times and pointed directly at the display did they finally restart the terminal – and of course, the payment worked immediately.
To make matters worse, when we left, the staff didn’t even say goodbye, looking at us with disdain, as if they had been doing us a favor. Such a shame, because the setting is beautiful and the food was genuinely good, but the staff’s arrogance, disorganization, and poor treatment made it a very...
Read moreCute place with fresh food. They have the best artisan bread I tasted on the island. But I found their much touted omelets overdone and dry. Also, the service is a bit cold, different from what I experienced from most locals. For example, we went two days in a row, and the second day we didn't even get a greeting, despite being repeat customers, not being demanding at all during our first visit, and having purchased some artwork from the proprietor on the first day (although, every customer should be greeted, repeat or not). Also, on the second visit, they were putting fresh flowers on the tables, but skipped ours (so empty tables had flowers, but ours didn't). I found this behavior strange. It gave me the feeling that they don't care about our business.
Also, be aware that breakfast is a bit more expensive than other options on the island ($50-$60 Euros for...
