Stumbled across this treasure of a restaurant walking back to my hotel in a nondescript neighbourhood I had booked for one night before heading to the islands. What a lucky stumble! I was treated to a taste of decadently moreish homemade fish soup, followed by a beautifully delicate sea bream carpaccio served with a drizzle of delicious citrus sauce. I would have been happy with that but there was more to come. Grilled vegetables - aubergine, zucchini, tomato and yellow peppers, thinly sliced and grilled to perfection served with a delectable balsamic glaze. This came with a trio of homemade breads all with their own distinct flavours - basil, local cheese, aubergine and tomato. The crowning glory, was the whole grilled squid - the most tender I've eaten, served with flavoursome cherry tomatoes and beautifully dressed with a little citrus sauce with a delectable olive oil and that's it. And it was stunning!

I really wanted to try the desserts - they had lemon pie, profiteroles in chocolate sauce and one other on offer, but I was so deliciously satiated by all the previous dishes, that I reluctantly abstained.

What a superb meal - and the lovely attentive service matched the excellent quality of food.

If you're in Athens, make the effort to try this place out. You won't be...

Fantastic restaurant...I don't understand why it s even compared to any other place in the vicinity....I tried the other 4.5+ in the area..Fugget about it...This place puts them all to shame...It serves top.quality seafood, prepared in a refined way at very very reasonable.prices ... (what restaurants should all do btw..)..The service is a bit quirky and high browed (I think the foodies probably weote baout this la e already and they know they re good...) but nonetheless very helpful, honest and timely (and the guys grow on you...)...I had the seabass carpaccio, the sea urchins with homemade bread and the chios pata with seafood..Though the pasta was just a tad overcooked (to my taste) it somehow blended beautifully with the sauce, and ushered the tasty clams and seafood into my palate in the smoothest possible way... It s really not far off the seafood pasta you get near Naples or in Sicily... With all the crummy pasta dishes you usually get in Greece I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised...The sea urchins were so fresh they must have been picked the same.afternoon..The seabass.carpaccio was tender, tangy and sweet ..and abundant! The house white wine and the ouzo were perfect companions to this wonderful dinner...All this for.40 euros...What else can...

After spending two weeks on the Greek islands, we planned to stay in Athens for a day just for this restaurant before returning to Switzerland. When I arrived in Athens from the Naxos Island, I was very excited and hadn't eaten anything all day. Unfortunately, when we got there, we saw that the restaurant was closed. If you are not open on Sundays, indicate that you are closed on Google Maps, do not waste people's time and money in vain. You ruined our day just because you gave wrong information on Google maps (because the restaurant seems open). I seriously wanted to try your food, but I'm extremely angry with you right now. You can see that the story I told from the attached photos is true.

It is not fare at all! We walked 1.5 hours and this is the result, not cool at all!

I was shocked by the answer given by the restaurant owner. We live in the age of technology, I came to their place trusting the "correct" information they shared on the internet that they are open on Sundays. Why should I have to call? They showed how arrogant they are with their answers. I hope you do not continue with this arrogance, it is really shameful and painful to treat your customers like this. To say that a brain is necessary, what a superior view.

You just could...

This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem that should be on every food lover's radar. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, this culinary haven offers a delightful escape with its exquisite dishes and impeccable service. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the octopus carpaccio. Each bite was a harmonious blend of delicate flavors and textures, perfectly seasoned and presented with an artistic touch. It's a must-try for anyone looking to experience something truly unique. The eel was another standout dish, showcasing the chef's mastery in preparing seafood. The eel was tender, flavorful, and complemented by a subtly sweet glaze that elevated the entire dish. It's a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. We also ordered daily fresh fish, today's menu was Greater Amberjack. It was a true celebration of the ocean's bounty. Each offering was fresh, succulent, and bursting with natural flavors. Finally, profiterol was amazing. Definitely you should not miss this if you like dessert In summary, Argoura is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for an exceptional meal, it will not disappoint. Highly recommended!
