ΤΡΑΠΕΖΟΥΝΤΑ ΚΡΕΑΤΙΚΑ & ΘΑΛΑΣΣΙΝΑ — Restaurant in Municipality of Kallithea

My wife and I visited the Restaurant around 2-3 p.m. The restaurant was fairly quiet, and we took a moment to look at the menu outside before heading in. Once we did, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. They were attentive and did their best to help us understand the menu in English, even bringing out the chef to answer our questions, all with good humor. Truly wonderful service!

We ordered boiled beetroot with tzatziki and pita bread as starters. For a side, I had roasted potatoes, and my main dish was fried sea bream. My wife chose pelmeni, a traditional Russian dumpling dish.

The food was a real highlight. The roasted potatoes were excellent, among the best we've tried, and the tzatziki was fresh and authentic—our first time trying it in Greece, and it was fantastic. The pita bread was also outstanding, freshly made and delicious, so much so that we ordered extra. The quality of the food was definitely a 10 out of 10.

One note: the sea bream was served whole, including the head and tail, which might be typical here but was a little different for us. The dishes also arrived at slightly different times, with my main arriving a bit after my wife’s, so this might be something to improve. Nonetheless, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

In conclusion, the Restaurant was a delightful experience with delicious food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens!

Apologies for not being able to share the photos. But, we were two people with literally no one in the restaurant, thus the food shall be perfect in my view because the kitchen is not that busy and decrease the percentage of an error. The Greek salad we ordered is below the standard in Greece, honestly, how can you make this salad literally tasteless? The olives inside were full of acid…then, mushed potatoes came way before the main course while we expected to have grilled meat with mashed potatoes together. Anyway, it tasteless as well. Coming to grilled meat. 3 types of meat have been ordered: lamb, chicken and pork. Only chicken has a least a juice, others are so dry and salty that makes me think of an old meat that been marinated to help the meat extend its life. The lady/cook was very friendly and welcoming. The disgusting service absolutely ruined the impression. We came to a quiz that was organized in this restaurant. While it was going on, the manager constantly looked at us askance and waved his hands, apparently not realizing that such events imply a loud atmosphere. We ordered only 2 bottles of water that cost 7€!!! Despite the fact that the menu indicated that drinks cost 2.5 €. We did not swear, did not want to spoil our mood.
