Beautiful in and outside. High-tech paid parking with red and green lights on the ceiling, indicating free or occupied spaces. In KPISN you get to see lots of exhibitions and events, plus it houses the national library of Greece. Outside you have a canal where you can embark on (book online first) canoeing and sailing for free! Be advised that for canoeing the youngest age is 10yo, and for sailing 6yo. The -not so hidden- gem here is the huge playground facilities, with large chess sets and unique games to play. Careful of the yo-yo game, it's not suitable for very young ages. Good place to run or cycle (you can rent a bike there too), lots of activities all year round, many cafes to sit or get drinks from. One of the Must Visit places in Athens. Be aware that it gets VERY hot outside in the summer. Not many shaded areas and lots of white marble that reflects light and blinds the eyes.

Pros: Modern-style park featuring local flora and lighting. Offers stunning views of the city and boasts modern architecture, possibly including a sports stadium or concert hall. A unique building with trees on its rooftop adds to the park's appeal. Integration with the national opera, library, and artificial water channels creates a remarkable attraction for both locals and international visitors. Cons: Lacks a comprehensive map encompassing the entire park complex, including the national opera, library, and artificial channels. Clear signage or guidelines are needed to direct visitors to the main entrances of the library and opera.

I adored this place, it was heavenly to be surrounded by 1 million books going up floors and floors. The design is just simple fantastic! I was very lucky to be able to meet one of the architects on this building AND she gave me a tour. It is breathtaking, from the layout, to the views to the functionality of it, and wow even the parkade had its own wow-factor. I also loved the cafe, the museum shop, and the evening walk around the whole rooftop garden. A garden in the middle of the city with views of skylines and freeways as well as the sea, and all this while walking amongst ancient olive trees. Amazing.

this is my favorite place in athens, I've been there so many times I've lost count. it's so calming, it's beautiful, and it's just amazing as a book reader. it has great shows, movies, concerts and more, it also allows roller skating!!! I urge you to go there, you'll see how awesome it is! though unfortunately it's very far from the metro, but thankfully A2 bus stops around 10 minutes away, and it takes around 20 minutes from syntagma to go there! returning back will be a little difficult, I have to take a bus around 15 minutes away which takes 40 minutes to arrive to syntagma, but it's very worth it.

Very nice place to go for a walk, cycling or any outdoor activities. There is a huge 8-floor library as well. Many different events and live concerts at the modern Opera are taking place here, you may find more info in the program. Last time I went for Max Cooper electronic music producer and it was an amazing show - a combination of experimental music and visual show was impressive. I highly recommend to visit Stavros Niarchos for a cultural experience or just to come for a walk, there is coffee shop and hot chocolate spot available now during Christmas time celebrations.
