Parasties used to be our go-to restaurant last year, especially since it was warmly recommended by the owner of the hotel we always stay at when visiting Paleochora. Last year during our 5 days stay we dined every night at Parasties, the service was efficient, welcoming and the food impeccable. This year we visited the restaurant twice in June and once in September.
In June we noticed that several new members had join the service team and while not so serious mistakes were made in our orders, we globally enjoyed our time and stayed on a rather positive note.
Nonetheless, during our visit in September, tonight as I write the review, we are terribly disappointed to have experienced an unusual practice from the service team that consisted to edit our bill without our asking and pin it on our table without any explanation while we were just starting to enjoy our appetisers. We weren’t the only customers to receive the bill during our meal, the neighbouring tables were as surprised as us, especially since the waitress mistook the bills between our tables and did not even care to apologise or give any further explanations. The service had just started (around 8pm) and we truly felt unwelcomed, as if the Parasties team was bothered by our presence and needed us to shorten our time there…
We ended our meal shortly after, we did not finish, we took the bill printed earlier to the waitress in order to pay and we left the place with our plates still full.
Not one single member of the service team cared to ask if everything was ok or why were we leaving that early without finishing our food and without taking the usual raki / dessert offered to sign the end of any decent Greek restaurant experience.
We then went to another restaurant, a few meters away from Parasties in order to have a more welcoming experience and a moussaka to replace the one we left unfinished in our plates at Parasties.
I really hope the management will care to take the time to train the service team in order to deliver the positive customer service experience it used to deliver last year, especially given the great potential the restaurant...
Read moreWe arrived quite late in the evening and were told the chef’s specials were all gone and burgers have also finished which was alright. We chose the stew rooster pasta, lamb chops served with vegetables & chips, honey mustard pork with vegetables & chips and the moussaka. The moussaka tasted fine and the honey mustard pork was very nice; however, the pasta stew was full of bones which made it hard to try and eat as I was constantly picking them out and the sauce was nothing special either. The lamb chops came and it was just a big pile of them, mainly bone, and there was no vegetable & chips so we asked the waiter and he at first claimed it was only the lamb and no sides that it came with and we misread the menu but he then did get a small plate of roasted vegetables for us. Maybe it was just a bad evening for them, but with the surrounding restaurants serving tasty dishes and excellent service we won’t be going...
Read moreDelicious food and attentive service! I ordered the ribeye — tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled. The homemade fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the grilled vegetables were a flavorful, well-balanced side. The tempura-style eggplant slices were light and crispy, a great way to start the meal. We also tried the minced meat patty (burger-style), which was juicy and nicely grilled, served again with proper fries and roasted peppers. Overall, great ingredients, honest cooking, and a welcoming vibe. I’d definitely return especially...
