Pizzeria Odysseia — Restaurant in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

Our worst restaurant experience in Crete so far. We waited 40 minutes for a table to be available. The first one was taken in front of our eyes-and of our little kids- by a pure impolite arrogant macho, his silent wife and their 2 teenagers without the intervention of any of the stuff members. The second available one was also taken with the help of the staff member this time who had the audacity to ask us to wait for another 10 minutes when we came to explain ourselves to the customer. I mean either the restaurant gives tickets and handles a proper waiting list or they let customers do. A horrible experience that felt like hunger games! I was guided by online reviews when choosing a restaurant. Is it worth going to this restaurant? I definitely do not recommend it. Crete has wonderful food full of flavor, culture and tradition. The dishes served were tasteless, the pasta pretended to be Italian dishes, the pizza tried to imitate Italian, but they were ordinary flatbreads with a lot of cheese. I visited this place during a very busy evening time, but the team took my food allergy seriously from the very first moment. 💙They immediately informed the kitchen staff, used fresh, newly cutted, ingredients just for my pizza, and made sure there was absolutely no chance of cross-contamination! It was handled with such care and kindness — I truly felt safe and respected. Thank you so much for this care and amazing communication. It really meant a lot to me.
