My goodness where do I begin, my friend had visited this pizza place as a kid and we adventured down. We had a small amount of concrete goals when we went to Greece but besides that we were just spontaneously adventuring around, this place made our small list! Revisiting this childhood spot was one. He recognized the spot and the owner is literally one of the kindest and humble person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They treat you like family, the entire staff Is lovely and they all are so warm and welcoming my goodness, just for the hospitality alone 5 stars, getting into how delicious the food was, I cannot begin to describe it. Also the cats that hang out around the area. An absolute cherry on top! They really make me want to go back❤️ thank you for the lovely experience. Also do not get me started on the breath taking view. Positive beautiful warm Vibes all around! Made my heart feel so full. We drove from Heraklion to Paleochora and it did not disappoint. I love the culture within...
Read moreMany people more prefer restaurants with higher rating and maybe missed for example this one. I think that's a mistake. Yesterday it was the fourth restaurant, which we visited in the last days here and for our surprise it was maybe the best spent time and very good choice. We didn't have high expectations. But the staff (despite the full tables) was very kind and fast, they had Pilsner beer as an option, for me as a guy from Czech it's very pretty surprise. About the meal: we got really big portions, very tasty and for regular prices, cretan salad as a starter was also very nice and good. We are rating this as one of the finnest stays if you are looking for to spent a good time in restaurant during your holiday trip. Recommend it. Detailed ranking by me is 4.7. Thanks Portofino for very large and...
Read morePlace: Good food with a big space and many tables inside. Good location. Service: Warm welcome greeting from an old man. Though it took time before we got the bill it was understable because their busy serving others then. We came here around 8-9pm friday 21/10 when it was almost fully occupied. Free to choose: Plus points for asking if we wanted to have a bread as starter (most of the restos just serve bread without asking) which we don't usually eat because we usually order Saganaki as starter. Good for not wasting food! We even had a chance to choose what dessert we wanted (we chose raki with honey and yoghurt with honey&walnuts) which is in other restos they just serve you raki or ouzo...
