Edem Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

Came here for a quick snack only to notice hair on the side of the plate of my Greek salad. I told the server right away as it is unsanitary to serve to customers, but then she proceeded to blame me and said it was my hair even though it was impossible since another lady from the village had tied up my hair in one of the traditional scarves. I then tell her I would like a discount instead of asking for a new one and she agrees. I decided to take a few more bites since the hair was only touching a small portion. As I continue to eat I notice more pieces of hair in the middle of the salad. Disgusted by what I see, I am unable to finish the salad and I get up and leave without paying. I work as a chef, and in the kitchen I work in we have to wear our hair tied back and with hair nets.. recommend your staff does the same. I would not be going out of my way to write this review if I didn’t find hair in my food. Bold of you to assume I would come to a remote island in Greece with no money. Extremely unprofessional, server was rude, and owners are a joke. Do NOT eat here. Not only did I have a terrible experience, but to top it off the food made me sick. On my flight home I was vomiting non stop, I had food poisoning. Terrible place, terrible service, terrible food, terrible attitude. Before leaving the island, I spoke to some locals about my experience and they agreed that this restaurant is known to be rude and not as fresh as they claim. After reading more reviews on this restaurant I see that this is a common problem. Also noted that the owner is extremely rude. I am shocked reading the responses. The customer is always right. This is genuinely concerning. Judging by the responses from the “owner” I feel bad for the employees, seems as though the owner could potentially be abusive. Karma is real, so be careful with your words and attitude towards people, it will catch up to you!...
