Papaioannou Restaurant Kifissia — Restaurant in Municipality of Kifisia

Arrived 10 minutes before their opening time outdoor seating was already set, head waitress was just sitting smoking and we weren't allowed to take a seat because they were to busy getting ready!!! The waitress was very dismissive and rude. I have often arrived at restaurants and much smarter ones a bit early and not only do they eagerly allow you take a seat but they also offer you a drink while you are waiting. They obviously can afford to turn away good clientele. We went and had a great meal at SAY hotel spending 100 euro and left a 20 euro tip. No matter how good your food is of the people working there are rude and condescending then you will lose alot of good customers. It's a nice place in Kifissia, where the staff is very good and polite. However when it comes to prices it's definitely overestimated! Yesterday we paid 33 Euro/person for the traditional plate of the date 25th March, bakalaos with skordalia. The portion of the fish was too small and skordalia was almost non-existent next to bakalaos!!! This plate was not also included in the menu list so the price was a surprise within the bill! Along with grilled octapus (23euro), vegetables, taramosalata, fried potatoes and 2 glasses of wine we paid for two people 144 Euro!!! No problem to pay more in a well-known fish restaurant, but not 33 euro/plate for this quality and quantity! Sorry, but more...

Wonderful seafood restaurant, well deserving a 5-star score. Extensive choice in seafood and a great wine list. The seafood dishes are well thought out. The tomato salad is based on tomatoes from Crete, served with their sauce and served without skin. The appetizer selection is extensive and the fish is charcoal grilled, of course. Service is excellent, the wine steward knos his stuff and English is well spoken.

Kifisia is upscale Greek. The restaurant of our hotel prides itself on being non-Greek in its selections which is some form of neighborhood snobbery. We did not like it nearly as well. The area as a whole is just wonderful with shopping,...
