Acropol Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

I popped in here as it was mentioned they would have football the following afternoon. I asked for confirmation of which matches, and they were non-committal, which was unhelpful as I found out the next day there and elsewhere.

I had every intention of eating myself and getting a takeaway for my wife, who didn't feel up to dining out.

I was served my first beer, but I had to ask again for the menu.

Getting a second beer proved somewhat challenging despite being sat on the closest table to what appears to be the owners (2 couples).

The third (final beer) and salad takeaway proved even more challenging to order, the owners/staff either eating or on their phones.

The person who took the order had to come back and ask if it was a tuna sandwich or salad I had ordered

Thankfully, it turns out the tuna salad I got for my wife turned to be wonderful.

Shame my confidence had gone. Otherwise, I might have eaten that night too, and my opinion would be different from my initial impressions.

First impressions do really count, again ask the owners of the local minimarkets, where you are welcomed regardless of how little or how much you spend with them.

Indifference is your own enemy, may be you've already made your money from the season. If so, close early if you can't be bothered.

AS for my dinner (it now being late), I went to Manos' takeaway, where I was welcomed by very enthusiastic and pleasant staff, I was served swiftly! A much more enjoyable...

Been here a few times this week, and we shall again before we leave. Food is excellent. Had a burger, and cooked to perfection. The good lady had a pizza, and not a bit of oil on it. Best pizza by a long way she says.

Staff are excellent, friendly and so polite it's untrue. They really do embody the culture of Greek people.

Restaurant is spotless, and I mean, spotless. Shame I can only give them 5 stars if I'm honest...
