We ate at Sagittarius restaurant three times during our week stay in Tagaki. The owner Manolis was so friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed having a joke with us on each visit. On our last night he even gave us some of his home grown basil to take home 😀
The food was absolutely amazing every time. We had the Lamb Kleftiko, Vine leaves, stuffed mushrooms, Moussaka, Lamb Orzo, minestrone soup- was freshly made and so tasty. Sword fish. Beef stifado. Everything was freshly made and tasted delicious. The starters and mains were really quick coming out with the right amount of time between them. We had a carafe of house red wine/sweet. This tasted a little syrupy with a sherry like taste. We loved it! The prices are excellent for the quality!
Travelling with a fussy 4 year old we found Sagittarius restaurant really good for kids with and extensive menu that included ice cream for dessert. Our daughter had the spaghetti with butter and cheese, spaghetti Bolognese and Ham, chips and beans. She enjoyed all of them. She didn't eat all the spaghetti and cheese but she hasn't got a big appetite at times. She absolutely loved the Bolognese though and cleared the lot. We tried it and it tasted delicious!
Sagittarius is a lovely authentic greek restaurant with a relaxed ambience. Our daughter loved seeing the turtles in the fountain which is a unique touch.
Please don't hesitate to try this restaurant. You won't be...
Read moreAlways have the sunday dinner at Sagittarius when we stay at Tigaki which is always home cooked and tasty. Pretty restaurant but our visit this time was let down by the poor service from a young lad (ie, we sat down and he didnt offer us menus or ask what we would like to drink so we were sat there a while before we got the attention of the owner). All good from when Manolis took over, but a lot more expensive than what it used to be and you can tell the restaurant is really missing not having their son working there anymore (we missed him too!). Lovely owners but could see they were struggling with the lack of staff which must be...
Read moreAbsolutely stunning restaurant. Staff are lovely too. However we waited over an hour and a half for food. They did explain this was due to poor staffing. Unfortunately the food wasn’t great, pizza was like an ‘iceland’ frozen pizza including kids ones. Chips not good either. Burger bun on kids meal hard and inedible. Swordfish tasted like it was tuna steak from the freezer. Lasagne was the only thing that tasted 10/10. They where too busy to bring this up unfortunately and we were in a rush. Hopefully the poor food was just due to poor staffing (maybe the chef has changed) as we only went here on lots of good...
