Syrtaki — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

Unfortunately, the policy of the restaurant is not on the same path as its beautiful landscape. I was dissapointed from my last time there. I have been there before and, to be honest, the food used to be quite decent, but now the situation has gone worse. The menu is clearly oriented towards a fast-food tourist service rather than a proper seaside restaurant experience. An indicative example is with its french fries. They are pre-cooked, of bad quality and fried into an overused oil. As a consequence their smell was bad, oily and had a dark repelling brown color. Needless to say that we didnt eat a single one. When I mentioned it to the waiter I received more of an arrogant ok, than a frank sorry with a new proper potatoes this time. There are other issues as well, such as the excess use of spices in the dishes which prevent us to taste the meat underneath, bad I won't point them all in this comment. Today we was here after a long beach day. The restaurant was really full and busy but we still don’t waited this long. We had the meze plate Johanna, gyros plate and the unbeatable fresh sword fish from the grill. Everything was super tasty and on point. The meze (tzatziki, dolomades, fried courgette, three meat balls(we had them separately..) and home made bread from spelt with sesame) was awesome. The gyros was moisty and crusty and for me the best one I ever had. Kindly the same my wife says about her swordfish. Fresh, tasty and even a little bit dry. The people who work here make and absolutely professional impression. You really can’t say this about every restaurant here. In the end we got a big glass of of metaxa. Terrible experience, high prices and small portions, non-existent table service. The lamb ordered came cold and looked like a shoe sole, the vegetables that are usually included in the price as well as the bread were paid and completely unseasoned, so since there were only 2 waiters in an incomprehensibly full restaurant I had to get up to ask for the oil, which I had the misfortune that they brought me in a sachet unlike others who had had it in the bottle, almost impossible to open given the poor lighting. Another mistake, but we were hungry, was ordering the meatballs, even these inedible, but the cats liked them, but only because they were hungrier than us, the tzaziki was full of garlic.
