Taverna Zefyros — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

We are here for the second year in a row because it is really fresh and honest. The waitress who was here last year is still here. She was super quick and very attentive. We had started here in Kefer and tried almost every restaurant and they were all very good. We were more than satisfied with some of the dishes here. All in all, it was super tasty, very fresh and inviting.

We ordered a large water, 1/2 liter of white wine, a Greek salad pizza, a Greek salad, pita, stuffed wineleaves as a plate with fries and tzatziki and extra olives. We were able to eat everything except two olives. It was that good !It's also very important to us to say that the pizza here was really top notch. Everywhere on the island the pizza dough is very biscuit. here it was fluffy and perfect

There was also a little gift from the house at the end; two scoops of ice cream that tasted like melon and were very tasty.

I have no idea how anyone can give this taverna a positive review unless they are mates. We visited for an evening meal this week and ordered lamb kleftiko, mousaka and chicken gyros. There was nothing authentically Greek about any of the dishes, and suspect the food is reheated frozen meals from the local supermarket. The kleftiko was inedible, wrapped in a bag that I think was suppose to be filo pastry but had the texture of a hard plastic bag, the lamb content was dry and overcooked. The mousaka had no mince or aubergines, just a pile of cold potato. The staff looked bored and lacked any front of house experience. It’s a real shame as the views over the bay are great. Avoid this Taverna as there are plenty of others nearby that serve fantastic food but I will review these separately. As you would expect, we left without...

Visited on 28 Oct/24. Lovely spot on the beach . Great views. Whilst I appreciate the most of Kefalos was shut by this I do not understand why they would give you menus to peruse and when they come to take your order tell you that most things are not available. It's not complicated!!! Eventually found starters to share and a main to share. Despite being specific all the food came at once. I sent the main back until we had finished the starters. No welcome or pleasantries from the staff and no thank you upon payment. If you are open and charging full price at least give the customers 100% effort...
