Koutsothanasis Bakery — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

I’m not exaggerating when I say this: this bakery in Mykonos was hands-down the best bakery I’ve been to in all my 26 years. I’ve never tasted anything like it—everything was next-level delicious. I’m honestly obsessed.

I tried a chicken sandwich, a turkey-feta combo on a baguette with Caesar sauce… and I still can’t get over how insanely good it all was. The flavors, the freshness, the bread—just unreal. I had it again on my last day, and I can honestly say it was the best thing I ate during my entire trip—and that includes meals at proper restaurants!

Now that I’m back in Germany, I’m seriously in withdrawal. I already miss it and I don’t know how I’m going to eat sandwiches here again without thinking of that one.

I went to this place while researching good bakeries on the island. I carefully went through all the available results on Google and chose this place because of the high ratings from many people. I bought 3 pieces of Tiropita (cheese pie) and 3 sweet Koulouris. The Koulouri was okay; however, the cheese pie was not fresh—it was definitely not from the same day. It had a rather dry consistency, and I’ve eaten quite a lot of cheese pies around Greece over the years. This was one of the least tasty I’ve ever tried. So, sometimes good reviews should be taken with caution, as owners nowadays often push clients to leave reviews immediately. Very friendly staff, delicious selections, and wonderful prices. We were thrilled to find this local bakery nearby our hotel. We visited about 5 times during our 9 nights in Mykonos. There are about a million things to choose from- all fresh and rotating throughout the day. Great for a quick sandwich or handheld savory bite. Also tons of bread baked goods, cakes, pies, and more. Highly recommend for anyone on the island!
