Caya Italian Cuisine Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

During our visit, we experienced a significant misunderstanding regarding the pricing. Initially, we were informed that the price was 50 euros with consumption included. We assumed, as is common at other beaches, that this meant we needed to consume from the restaurant to reach the 50 euro mark.

From the start, the service was disappointing. The attendant assigned to us was rude and hasty. When it was time to settle the bill, we were shocked to be told the final price was 98 euros. Believing it should be 50 euros, we kindly asked for an explanation. His response was dismissive: "I don't get your point, it's 98 euros." When we reiterated our understanding of the 50 euro charge and requested to see the bill, he showed it on his phone, but when I got closed to it to simply read the small character he exclaimed "don't touch". After insisting, he finally provided a printed bill, which clarified that the two sets cost 50 euros, with an additional 50 euros for consumption.

I paid the bill but informed him that his service was rude and hasty. He simply replied "bye" and walked away.

Here are some points to consider: I hope the initial miscommunication was due to language barriers rather than an attempt to mislead customers. However, such misunderstandings can happen. For 100 euros, I expect classy service, not rude and hasty treatment. This kind of experience tarnishes the image of a beautiful country like Greece. We visited Naxos three years ago and Caya was our go to restaurant in the three weeks we stayed on Naxos we visited here at least 7 or 8 times excellent friendly service .We are in Naxos once again for 3 weeks and decided to visit here again,i don,nt know if the ownership or management,chef has changed but just was,nt the same place Nonchalant staff, atmosphere down beat music ,even average food the cheese balls we ordered as a starter we not even hot,the pasta dish was ok,last time we were here we usually stayed after we had eaten to enjoy the music and a cocktail or two but this time could,nt wait to get the bill and leave Not so cheap eiether i don,nt mind paying for good food and service but very disappointed in both ,i live in Stockholm which is expensive to eat out and drink due to the high alcohol tax but here was the same prices as Stockholm in Greece for average food and service And they even had the cheek to suggest a tip No more visits here during my three week holiday it,s certainly lost it,s mojo and nice ambiamt atmosphere for me See my other reveiw i wrote three years ago i gave it a thumbs up then I write truthful and honest reveiws to the places i visit...

We were treated rudely and aggressively by a male beach waiter from the minute we arrived; three of us had 2 seats and a man kindly allowed us to use his fourth lounge that he paid for.

The beach waiter tried to continuously argue with us to get us to pay for four lounges despite the third one we were using having already been paid for (for the whole day).

For spending 70 euros his behavior is simply unacceptable, ungrateful, inhospitable. To further, he spoke to others about us rudely in Greek throughout our stay to make us feel even more uncomfortable. He passed many men renting beach lounges and was kinder to them, patting them on the back, etcetera. Maybe he thought he could take advantage of us because we are all women.
