Listen, I'm gonna be real with you - Yazoo Beach might have just ruined every other beach club for me. And I've been to A LOT of beach clubs (occupational hazard of having more airline miles than sense).
So there I was, fresh off the ferry, still slightly queasy from the ride over, when I stumbled onto this slice of paradise. The beds? Oh my god the BEDS. We're not talking about those tragic plastic loungers that leave waffle marks on your back. These are proper daybeds that practically whisper "come hither" as you approach. Thick cushions, adjustable shade, little side table for your drinks... I literally melted into mine like butter on warm bread. The kind of setup where you plan to stay for an hour and suddenly its sunset and you've missed your dinner reservation but honestly who cares because you're living your best life horizontal on a Greek island with sand between your toes.
But let's talk about that Mai Tai. That Mai Tai. I don't know what kind of sorcery the bartender was practicing but one sip and I swear I could hear the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song. Two sips and I was ready to commandeer a yacht. By the bottom of the glass I was having full conversations with seagulls and texting my Greek bff that "Greece misses you" (he didn't respond, probably for the best). The rum blend was perfection - not that syrupy tourist trap nonsense but a proper dangerous concoction that sneaks up on you like a pickpocket in Athens. Actually wait that's a terrible comparison but you know what I mean. The kind of drink that makes you forget you're supposed to be a responsible adult with a conference call at 3pm Athens time.
The whole vibe at Yazoo is just... chef's kiss. The staff treats you like you're the only person on the beach even when it's packed. The music volume is perfect - loud enough to feel the bass in your chest but quiet enough to have those deep life conversations with strangers at the bar. And the crowd! None of that pretentious Mykonos energy where everyone's trying to out-Instagram each other. Just people actually enjoying themselves, getting progressively more sunburnt and making questionable decisions about that third Mai Tai. Would I go back? I'm literally looking at flights right now. My liver says no but my soul...
Read moreWe visited it start of July. They told us that the two first lines of beach chairs were reserved (leaving us only the last row open). We sat to the beach bar next to it (first row-same price as the price for the last row in this beach bar) where no one dictated where to sit or told us anything about reservations. We stayed there for 5 hours and the first two rows of this beach bar were never used. Very bad practice that ruined the whole experience for this place.
I have seen the answer to my review and I’m certain about what I wrote. I don’t have the time to provide reviews; I only do when I think something is particularly good or particularly bad and it’s worth saying. It was a day between 18-20 July, weekday and your employee said this to us (maybe because we had a 3 y old toddler with us). He was polite but this practice is really bad and it mostly hurts your business as we came to the beach to visit your beach bar in the first place. And I can confirm that most of the beach chairs in the first two rows were free when we left (after 4,5-5 hours). I know this because we stayed in the beach bar just next to your beach bar. If this is not your practice, then you need to let your employees know because this is what...
Read moreThe only good thing about this restaurant is the hostess. She had our reservation, she was very professional. Ortherwise, the entire diner was outrageously awful. First of all, the service was very slow. I never had the bread I asked for; never. They sold us a picañah with Argentinian beef which 1/3 of it was fat (see the picture) and I came with a simple salad, this is was for 33€ which is way too much for this kind of dish. My tuna tartare was so-so nothing to be proud of. When you choose to make something simple make it perfectly at least. My girlfriend took a Pink fizz…. As a F&B manager I can assure you this wasn’t worth 14€, there was more ice than anything else. People are not stupid !! Too finish, we waited more than 25min with empty dishes and no one came to us to clean the table and ask whether we wanted something else. I also had to stand up to pay the bill and they asked me too sit but I had to wait 10 more minutes. I would never but never advise this restaurant. They take clients for granted. This is too expensive for this mediocre quality of service and food. You guys should be ashamed. As a person who works in hospitality, I cannot...
