Picasso on the beach - Naxos — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We spent the day at the beach with our two kids and had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially the guy looking after the beach area, who made sure we had everything we needed.

The beach setup was great: it was €60 for an umbrella with two sunbeds and two beanbags for the kids, but that amount gets deducted from whatever you order at the beach, which made it totally worth it.

The menu was a nice change from the usual Greek fare, with tasty Mexican dishes and a well-priced selection. The kids’ meals were also excellent, our children were happy and well-fed!

There were a few lilos available, which the kids played with all day, adding to the fun.

The whole place had a super cool Tulum-style vibe, even the bathrooms and the restaurant. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, it felt relaxed, stylish, and really well thought out.

I had visited this place around 10 years ago and had better overall impressions from that time, I was there again in summer 2021. The decoration and ambient has been improved since then and it's very nice and cozy. Waitress and personnel were very kind as well with the smile in their face. However, service and food was quiet disappointing. It took them unreasonably too long to serve us the food, it was night and the kids were sleepy when it finally arrived. The menu is basically more Tex-Mex rather than Mexican food. A big disappointment for me was that no mole dishes are included in the menu. The Mexican salad was tasty, the Ceviche was just ok, but a bit too spicy. However, the chicken quesadillas and the tacos mariscos were bad, heavy and tasteless! Quite likely the best chicken wings I have ever eaten, anywhere - and I've eaten a LOT of chicken wings! We love Greek food as much as the next person, but the Mexican food here is just amazing, its not often me and The Husband agree 100% but we both agree on this - it's lovely to have this as an option when you cannot face yet another aubergine or simple Greek salad. The setting is beautiful, the staff are friendly, the prices are extremely good for food of this quality in this area, and right opposite the sea. It has such a chill-out vibe.
