Great views of Kalami Bay are available from this restaurant's outdoor terrace, which sits high up in the hills. We enjoyed a comfortable meal with no rush here, meandering our way through salads, entrees, and desserts. The staff regularly checked in to ensure we were enjoying our food, and we appreciated the careful concern that they extended to us. This was the one restaurant in Kalami where it appeared the staff genuinely wanted us to enjoy. :)
The place has great character to it. The menu starts with a story of the restaurant's history, and the interior of the restaurant includes a quiet bar, a deli, and even a gift shop selling local products and foods (olive oils, wines, soaps, etc.). We enjoyed browsing the shop after we had finished eating.
We did find the rooftop to be a bit buggy, though. Our first table must have been sticky somewhere because the table was overrun with ants. After killing ten or so, we requested to sit elsewhere. Thankfully, that solved the problem! :) No more ants at the other table. We did arrive a bit before dusk, too, and I was getting eaten up by mosquitos. Read moreI spent 8 nights in Kalami and ate here 6 nights (I wish it was all 8)! It’s that good!! By far the best in Kalami. But it’s not just great food or an amazing view that you get at Dimitiri, it’s the atmosphere and the feel of being a family that Alison, Dimitiri, Starvos, and George create! Every Saturday there is amazing traditional music played by Dimitiri and a long time friend, it creates such a fun atmosphere and also Dimitri shares more about the history of the music so you get a chance to feel more connected to Greece. It’s best to make a reservation, so you can get picked up by George!! PS. Ask George to tell you a story on the way home he’s amazing! But we were also accommodated without a reservation on our first night. You can also shop for some amazing treats and gifts to take home, my bag was much heavier with lovely soaps, baklava and even the kumquat liqueur.
Thank you for making our week so lovely, I look forward to seeing you when I’m back in Kalami!
My tips for food! Appetizers - Aubergine Dip, Cheese Saganaki, Stuffed Bell Peppers Main - Mixed Souvlaki Grill with the Chef’s Sauce!! And Spanikopita for my veggie friends Desert - Dimitiris espresso and ice cream and the chocolate...
Read moreLet me share my incredible experience at Dimitri's Restaurant, a charming establishment that offers both stunning ocean views and a warm, friendly atmosphere. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by the serene ambiance. The menu featured a delightful selection of dishes, and I couldn't resist trying both the fried and grilled calamari. Each bite was a true delight - the fried calamari had a perfectly crispy coating, revealing tender and flavorful morsels inside, while the grilled calamari offered a delightful smoky taste. The accompanying sides were the ideal complement to the seafood's natural flavors. What truly stood out was the genuine friendliness of the staff at Dimitri's. They went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction and made me feel truly welcome. With its picturesque setting, delectable cuisine, and inviting atmosphere, Dimitri's Restaurant is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience by the sea. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful meal in a truly...
