Jasmine — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

The staff are lovely attentive and very busy. We went at lunch time. Lost a star for this - Lots of smoking around the whole property. Including parents with very young children. Special pita bread is not worth it - it is pita (nothing special with oil and a little feta sprinkled over it). Again another star lost we ordered starters which were served with the main. It was not suggested that we would get everything together at once except when the waitress said let’s move you to a bigger table. I indicated that it worried me - why? Is it that big? Are you serving it all together? May be she did not hear me. But yes my suspicion was correct. First time have I had starters served with the main - usually it is served prior with a little break.

Chips were ordered but not there with the hotdog. My partner felt the food was average. I enjoyed my club gyros pork pita. I can’t tell on the bill if chips where charged as all in Greek (it is expected to be in Greek, not moaning and I could have asked).

We had the chocolate drinks (yet again I don’t understand the underlying charges for those €0.5&1 as it is in Greek) they were very nice.

The decor and feel is pleasant and fresh. Toilets are clean.

2 Starters, 2 Mains and 2 chocolate drinks = €28. Price is good and we were very full. It is a shame about the smoking and the other bits it would have earned 5 for me. Refinement - if we knew we would have just ordered...

Both the service and the gelato itself left a lot to be desired. We only stopped for ice cream, so we didn't try the restaurant or the café, just the ice cream, and this is what my review is uniquely based on, nothing else.

The cones are not crunchy, you might as well eat cardboard unfortunately.

The flavors seemed appetizing, but when it came to serving them, some were all frozen and hard, not creamy, to the point that I had to ask the staff to change flavor so I could stop their struggle in their numerous attempts to place the scoop on the cone.

After I finally managed to have the two scoops on the cone, it wasn't even tasty, I found it to be overly sweet.

I can't recommend this place for ice cream unless you like exceedingly sweet flavors which are not particularly creamy and if you eat them from the cup and not...

The quality has declined dramatically since last year. We bought breakfast here several times last year, but this time will definitely be our last. The fried sausage had a clearly rancid taste and was completely inedible. I don’t know whether it was past its expiry date or had simply been reheated multiple times over several days, but all three portions suffered from the same unacceptable quality.

The fried mushrooms were equally disappointing — clearly canned button mushrooms that had been barely warmed through in a pan, with no trace of seasoning or salt whatsoever.

The toast wasn’t crisp, but instead so rubbery and tough that I had to saw through it with a knife.

All in all, a thoroughly disappointing experience — a far cry from the standard we encountered...
