Taverna "Levanda" — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

Food was lovely, but service was nothing short of appalling. We had to ask a waiter to order, as we had waited so long, we had all finished our beverages. We asked if we could have a simple spaghetti Napoli, to which we was told they could absolutely do that for us. Said spaghetti Napoli tasted like pasta doused in vinegar. This was after waiting an absurdly long time for the food to arrive. When the waiter asked for our opinions of the food at the end of the meal, we gave him our opinions, of which he seemed to disagree with. He told us that it was our problem we didn’t enjoy the pasta, as all of us had tried it after one member of the party, told us how badly it tasted. He said they had been making it for years, and were the first people to have a problem with it. He was fairly confrontational and incredibly rude. He then got another waiter, who appeared to be his superior. When we complained about how long it took, we were greeted with a load of sarcasm and rudeness. Instead of simply apologising for the delay in service, as most restaurants simply would, he said “You need to understand, this is not McDonalds” he also stated that it was an incredibly busy night, and we was in a restaurant and not a fast food setting. We had been in the resort for over a week at this point and had attended much busier restaurants, and hadn’t been met with service this slow. The appalling service, long waits for food and absurdly rude attitude of staff was simply shocking, would advise anyone against giving them your custom next time you consider...

Clearly disappointed. We chose this place based on previous reviews and didn’t understand the hype. The place is beautiful and the waiters were nice, however we didn’t expect to pay this price for this quality.

Besides the longgggg waiting for each dish that we are used to in Greece, we were quite shocked by the quantities (compared to the prices) of each starter and dish. 19€ for the fresh crab pasta : very low amount of spaghetti and half a can of crab ! The taste of the Greek pasta was good, but a kid would be satiated with the plate…

We didn’t mind to pay a bit more than others restaurants around, but hate to leave a restaurant still hungry...

The food and service was amazing, we went twice during the week we were visiting Kassiopi. The first night I ordered the kleftiko and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly and told us about the dishes. I would have given 5 stars, it was only because there was a small issue when our starters were forgotten, and when we received the bill there was a mix up with the previous table, but staff were very apologetic and rectified the problems as soon as they were aware. Obviously we were fine with this as we came back again and everything went perfect....
