Our first time at Strofilia after many years in Kassiopi. The menu outside had enticed us in, as just a little bit different although still including some of the traditional dishes. The taverna is beautifully clean, with fresh linen at every table, utterly spotless. We were delighted to find Greek music being played to create a good atmosphere. We ordered flogeres (cheesy hammy spring rolls) & mushrooms - both delish & served quickly. It was hard to choose a main as everything sounded gorgeous but we both had Chicken Strofilia - chicken breast with prawns, bacon, herbs & chilli in a cream sauce. This arrived piping hot (hurrah!) with a good mix of veg & potatoes. With a bottle of retsina & half litre of house white it came to under 60 euros for the 2 of us! It's easy to head to the harbour but in doing so you may miss some of the best meals. Give Strofilia a try - really worth it. Plus they have the coolest ginger cat around, often seen snoozing in the flower troughs in front of the taverna...but not the...
Read moreIf one would stay in Kassiopi for only one meal, this is it! ONE of the best of all the meals (20+) I’ve eaten in Corfu. Very detailed cuisine and love for the food, grilled sea bass was crunchy in the skin and tender/juice inside, not over-salted at all (unlike most of the others). Instead of just throw some chips on the side we got baked potato stuffed with tzatziki and some delicately seasoned salat. The Aubergine were also full of flavors and perfectly cooked. Moussaka is another level compared to „most of the family taverna on the streetside“, not over oily at all, the tastes of each layers are professionally built. I was way surprised by the performance of the foods , as the price is really really reasonable (given the vibe and location and all other tourist-oriented places). We also got a lovely house soup and a refreshing pudding dessert for the end.
Totally highlight the whole meal. Restaurant has also a cozy and romantic vibe, stylish and clean. Thank you chef and owner of...
Read moreNikos the Albanian trying to replicate Greek dishes! Much much better options in kassiopi especially the taverna opposite side of the road. The taverna was fantastic when the previous owner had it who was indeed Greek ! The restaurant does have a few customers every now and then but mainly when the others are closed and Theres nowhere else for food! We tried his food not once but twice and the dishes have been Bland and tasteless on both occasions. The hand cut chips are the best on the island apparently, so he said anyway 😂Don’t be fooled by the fake smiles and also make sure you DOUBLE check the bill😡 We tried it once and thought why not give it another go but unfortunately nothings changed it’s still as bad as it was the first time. We won’t be...
