Janis Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

Can’t speak more highly of this restaurant. I know what I’m talking about when it comes to food - believe me. By far the best meal we had on the trip. We went on a Wednesday evening at around 7:30 - we didn’t book so we were lucky to get a table for 2. I would definitely recommend booking. The place was packed. We had a lovely view of the sea and sunset. We sat at a table for 2 and there was plenty of distance between ourselves and the next diners.

The food was incredible. We had Tzatziki to start with - it was perfect. The consistency was spot on. The olive oil used was brilliant. For main course - we ordered the seafood linguine - this included shrimp, muscles and calamari. This dish was magnificent - you could taste the freshness. A good pasta dish is one where the pasta is the main and highlight - and it was. Cooked perfectly and the sauce was brilliant. I had oven cooked lamb - it was lovely, lamb was perfectly cooked. Drinks were great too. It’s pricey but worth every penny.

Service was good - waiters are good people and honest. I was told my food would be 45 minutes which I appreciated the honesty. One thing I would maybe advise is for the main lady to stop looking out from her viewpoint on the stairs! It’s almost as if you are being spied on or she’s on the look out for enemies! Less is more!!

We came to Janis’ restaurant with blowing gales and clouded skies. The overhead canopies held tighter than ever and kept us under covers, whilst still having that outside feel. Sitting down in a comfortable, relaxed setting, with the sea bashing against the rocks and sun setting in the distance, was a brilliant view to take in whilst dining.

The decor gave off “godfather” vibes and everything was exceptionally clean and tidy. The placemats and table settings were professionally laid out and the attention to detail was top notch.

The service from the waiters was warm and welcoming, with recommendations being offered when asked. We dined with our toddler of a daughter, who was made a fuss of from all staff and really enjoyed herself too!

The food was second to none, I am not normally a seafood lover, but the squid was incredibly tasty. The portions were just right, and even left room for dessert!

All in all, the experience was great and we will 100% be returning. We visit Corfu every year, and Janis’ restaurant will be on our list...

Excellent service and every one of the staff members were top notch. I mean, wow. Best service in all of Kassiopi if not Corfu and Grecce all together! Not exaggerating. The boys serving were amazing and even the owners daughter was lovely to us.

The decorations in the restaurant were lovely as well and the setting was outstanding.

The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it the only thing that made me give 4 stars was the over use of sauce on all of the dishes, it actually took away from the taste of the seafood, I could've been served pre-frozen fish and prawns for all I knew, because the sauce was dominating every dish. I don't think we were served old seafood or anything, but just wish the seafood was cooked separately and the choice to be covered in sauce was there.
