I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Our experience was absolutely unacceptable and borderline surreal. We arrived at the hotel after 11 PM. There was no one at the front desk, which wasn't a problem initially, as we had received a self-check-in procedure. We picked up our physical key and entered our room, only to discover that the magnetic card required to activate the electricity was missing. We searched the entire room but couldn’t find it anywhere. I called the emergency number displayed on the reception door multiple times. After a series of confusing and unhelpful responses, we were finally told to use the keys of another room that had been reserved for other guests—because, supposedly, those guests would not be arriving that night. The keys were sitting next to ours in the reception area. We moved to the new room and started to take a shower, trying to salvage the night. Not even one hour later, someone tried to enter the room. It was, of course, the very guests the hotel had confidently told us wouldn't be showing up. They walked in while we were showering—a quite humiliating and disturbing experience. Not only was this deeply disrespectful and uncomfortable for us, but it also created a major problem for the other couple, who understandably were shocked to find their assigned room already occupied. It wasn’t until after 2 AM—almost three hours after we had arrived—that the hotel finally sent someone in person. A receptionist showed up, but rather than apologizing or showing any awareness of the serious mistake, she even tried to shift the blame onto us, claiming we had missed the magnetic card on the reception desk (which is just absurd, the card was obviously just not there). Her attitude was completely unprofessional, and she handled the situation with no understanding, competence or empathy. Unfortunately, the terrible service didn’t end there. The breakfast buffet was very mediocre, with little variety. The parking area was extremely difficult to access. Our room was poorly maintained, with muddy footprints inside the shower (see attached photo). The air conditioning remote had dead batteries, and overall, the reception staff was inefficient and unresponsive. To sum up, this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I would discourage...
Read moreSummary : stayed in deluxe rooms with Jacuzzi, inconvenient designed property, with insufficient sound proofing and basic amnesty for the price. There are bars nearby with late night parties. on the sunny side Helpful staff, modern and spacious apartment, own parking area
Good : Modern renovated , spacious apartment, free breakfast, right near to the road. Helpful staff, if you go and mention your problem they will help you with their best.
We went to Balos beach by an early morning tour. The staff accommodated our early breakfast request. Thank you for that !
Can (must) be Improved :
Soundproofing: you can hear almost everything from anywhere. Also your neighbors even if our room was not attached with any other room. You can hear flush, you can hear shower from the own apartment.
Noise from the bar: the nearby bar can disturb your sleep if you are a light sleeper like me. My daughter slept perfectly fine. Also its quite a nuisances and particularly rooms 301 & 302 are quite exposed and are directly accessible to anyone.
Bad designed accessibility to rooms & others: Some rooms (301 - 302) are located at third floor without lift access. The lift is only used for rooms 401 to 402. Many aspects of property does not consider user friendliness
for breakfast you need to get down by stairs and use lift to go on the same level as your room is. Hilarious !!!
The stairs does not consider user safety as well. The stairs are made up of finished granite (which looks nice) but in rains it can get wet and slippery.
the parking area is weird and narrow. if you have bigger car then you better have a great maneuvering skills to avoid scratches.
Lack of proactiveness and lot of reactiveness : When we arrived the rooms were not ready, even if we checked in 4 hours after our time (communicated in advanced). The AC was not working, jacuzzi was not cleaned ( you could see the previous users soaps :D ). I doubted if we were given the room we paid for. I never used the Jacuzzi :P
Upon complaining they responded really well but I spent 2 hours figuring out what is...
Read moreWe stayed at Elia Platanias for 4 nights. When we arrived at Elia Platanias we were greeted by extremely warm and friendly staff, and upgraded to a bigger room, which was incredible. It was a beautiful apartment and was so relaxing, just what we needed! Parking was included so we didn't have to struggle to find any. We missed the timing for breakfast due to being extremely tired which caused us to oversleep but they would kindly offer us the breakfast anyway! Sadly a few downsides of the Elia Platanias included the bar opposite which was named New Planet, our room was located opposite this bar and we were constantly shouted at and harassed when on the balcony and when we walked past by what we believe to be the owner of New Planet Bar, to enter the bar or come down, it got to the point where we would rush past and dread walking past as it was starting to become extremely irritating! Another downside of Elia Platanias was the breakfast, although it was included with our room, it seemed as if there wasn't a large amount of choice and it took some time to receive the breakfast and the juice. We did not have a kettle in the room which was annoying as we wanted to make coffee but we just boiled water in a saucepan and proceeded to make coffee that way. There is no swimming pool at this hotel, however we were allowed to visit the Elia Hotel 10 minutes away which did have one. Unfortunately the cleaning staff left a bit to be desired as our room was only cleaned properly once during our stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not recommend staying here more than...
