En Plo — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

My wife and I were looking for somewhere special for her 50th birthday evening. We had walked around the harbour and found it too busy. The setting by the sea was just what we wanted and we were able to get a table that was a no show. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. We ordered steamed mussels, marinated anchovies, Village sausages, tiokafteri and bread. We were presented with some dips and the bread to start. All the food was excellent and the service very good. I had a small cake for my wife and the staff lit the candles and played happy birthday on the sound system. It was a beautiful setting, very calm and quiet, just what we wanted. We also had the usual desert and Raki which I actually really like. The restaurant is only a short walk from the old town past Avli restaurant and straight up. There are also post meal bars if you wanted to have a drink by the sea. We had a wonderful evening and would really recommend the restaurant. The prices were half that of the harbour and the food...

Our favourite place in Crete! Located in Rethymno at the base of the Fortezza, we found En Plo on a super hot day while exploring the old town. We ordered two ice-cold local Mamos beers and enjoyed the sea-breeze, the stunning views, and the friendly service. We were warmly welcomed and had a wonderful few hours. We were based out of town in Sfakaki, but loved En Plo so much that we visited every few days, either for a few beers or for a delicious lunch or dinner. The Pork Tomahawk steak was utterly delicious, as were the mussels, the Greek salad and everything else we ordered across our visits. The wonderful En Plo team treated us like old friends, always friendly and attentive but without being overly so. We can't thank them enough, and would 100% recommend En Plo for a visit when you're next in Crete. We will return again.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars! What an amazing dining experience! From start to finish everything was perfect, the portions are absolutely generous, the quality of the food is outstanding, and the service is perfect. The staff are warm, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and the attention to detail really makes a difference. With the fantastic food we were treated to a complimentary dessert and a glass of rakia on the house, such a thoughtful touch that made the evening extra special. If you’re looking for a place where you get excellent value, authentic hospitality, and some of the best food in Rethymno, this is it. Highly recommended....
