I discovered Afentika while exploring Rhodes, drawing on my years of experience dining at Greek restaurants, and it truly stood out. The restaurant perfectly captures the essence of authentic Greek cuisine, offering dishes that are not only delicious but also made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The mezes and grilled meats were exceptional, each dish bursting with traditional flavors that immediately reminded me of why I love Greek cuisine so much.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with attentive and friendly staff who made the experience even better. The prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality of both the food and service. For anyone visiting Rhodes, Afentika is a hidden gem that is absolutely worth a visit. My extensive background in trying Greek restaurants makes me confident in saying that Afentika is one of the best dining spots...

Siamo stati a cena in questo locale sito in una viuzza laterale del centro di Archangelos, di solito andiamo dal limitrofo locale di Manolis Mavrios, specializzato in mega porzioni di genuina carne alla griglia con insalatone, tzatziki e patatine, ma quella sera avevamo piu voglia dei classici piatti cucinati greci (i quali da Mavrios vanno usualmente ordinati il giorno prima e comunque non ci sembrano essere i piatti "forti" del locale...) e abbiamo scelto di venire qui, in quanto locale di vecchia tradizione come Mavrios, ma dove non avevamo mai avuto occasione di venire. Oltretutto quella sera di ottobre era un po' ventilato e quindi ci è sembrato meglio stare al tavolo della loro saletta anziché ai tavoli all'aperto di Mavrios. Saletta semplice ma accogliente, con una lavagna che esponeva i piatti consigliati del giorno, cosi come accogliente la famiglia che gestisce il locale. Abbiamo preso 2 mousaka' (visto il gran bene che se ne diceva in rete dai precedenti recensori), soutzoukakia, stifado (serviti con riso e patatine fritte) e come antipasto tzatziki e skordalia con il pita bread...dobbiamo dire che la mousaka, seppur piu che accettabile, non ci è parsa cosi valida come reclamizzato in rete mentre migliori ci sono parse soprattutto la soutzoukakia e anche lo stifado. Non indimenticabile lo tzatziki, ottima la skordalia'. Buono il vino bianco sfuso della casa. In due coppie abbiamo speso 57€, direi in conclusione buon rapporto qualità prezzo, ma un netto gradino sotto le alte aspettative suscitate dalla loro tradizione e da quanto letto in rete...ma ovviamente de gustibus non...

The service in the brightly lit restaurant is very friendly and it seems that locals also eat here. I start with a good Taramas, the garlic bread is also very good. I continue with a wonderfully tender chicken skewer, the fries on the side are ok. The red house wine is good, the presentation of the dishes rather unpretentious.
