We had dinner at this taverna on 16 October, when it wasn’t particularly busy. It was a cool evening, and my 10-year-old daughter felt cold, so I asked for some tea. The waitress tried to offer us beer and wine instead, and I had to ask for hot tea twice before it finally arrived—around 30 minutes later—which left a poor first impression.
While my partner went to the car to fetch a jumper, the owner refused to take my order, insisting on waiting for him to return. Shortly after, a glass of beer we hadn’t ordered was brought to our table, which I had to send back.
The menu was printed in several languages, including Greek, Italian, and English. I pointed to the grilled octopus on the menu and said “one,” but the Greek owner repeated “calamari?” and I said “yes,” assuming he was confirming the order. He never repeated the order back to us, so I thought we had ordered three dishes—pork souvlaki, octopus, and stewed meat. However, four dishes arrived: octopus, calamari, pork souvlaki, and the stewed beef. As it was far too much for two adults and a child, I asked for the beef to be packed as a takeaway.
When I calmly mentioned to the owner that it would help if he read the orders back to customers, he began shouting at me. My partner tried to defuse the situation by chatting about football, but the owner continued to raise his voice. Our child became quite upset.
We paid over €80 for the meal and left shortly afterwards. The food itself was good, but overall, I got the impression that this taverna only cares about making money and upselling to tourists. I would not return and cannot...
Read moreThis small tavern is located in the middle of Archangelos, a bit away from the busy streets. You sit on the slightly elevated, covered terrace quite cozy. The first thing to emphasize is that the guests are served here with a lot of heart. But let's come to the most important reason for a visit to the restaurant, the food: we have visited this tavern on several evenings and were very satisfied at all times. No matter what we chose, the dishes were always freshly prepared and tastefully seasoned. Indeed, a down-to-earth Greek cuisine is offered here. Besides the permanent offer of classics, every other wish is fulfilled. I can only suggest to express his wishes: Stelios and his wife make almost everything possible. We have benefited from the fact that we have requested fresh fish, procured especially for us. The preparation really exceeded our expectations and was at least two classes higher than a dedicated well-known fish restaurant, which we had also visited in advance. We can highly recommend this tavern: make yourself a nice evening...This 5-star-rating is...

We have had the pleasure of dining here twice, and each time we conversed and were helped by the owner and his family. I would recommend Hellas simply based on the excellent service.
Luckily, I can wholeheartedly recommend their food too. We had a variety of appetizers and main dishes, each of them well-prepared and delicious. Diet-specific wishes were also accommodated by the staff.
