Mousikorama — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

My family and I visited the restaurant. As we ordered our dinner we saw many seafood options and of course wanted to try them as well as other things that the tavern had. We were not recommended anything specifically from the staff (this will explain itself later on). The mussels we ordered were clearly frozen (each one was a different colour and with only one shell - you do not serve mussels in that way if they are fresh). The other food we had was acceptable but also not fresh. We decided to let the waiter know that we didn’t enjoy the mussels and we think they are frozen. The answer - Yes, they are, I know. We were so confused from this answer and advised that if something is not fresh it should not be offered because eating mussels from a long time ago is dangerous! My family expected some kind of apology whereas we received an attitude as if it was our fault we didn’t like it! We were told that we should have known about the state of the seafood as it is a taverna but how?? It is on the menu?? We should do a research beforehand, or maybe have received a recommendation of some sort?? My family is very open to trying new things, exploring new cultures, we have been visiting all parts of Greece for more than 10 years and have never been treated this way or received frozen seafood (if you don’t have it - don’t offer it). the atmosphere is awesome- being able to just check off what you want on a menu and hand it over to the staff is how it should be done; just so efficient. When you want more, just ask for another menu to write on. Our sterters were really good, (bruschetta type dish and baked Feta Mousikoroma style was one of the greatest things we have ever tasted on earth), but the main dishes we ordered for our main meal, pork with onions and peppers, and chicken with honey and sesame, were very, very bad. I am talking flabbergasted how bad it was. I fear it may have even been previously frozen. The chicken in honey sauce and sesame was so horrible we only had one bite. Seems they poured a bottle of Jack Daniels BBq sauce over the top of incredibly dried and flavorless chicken (could have been thawed in microwave), and then sprinkled sesame seeds on it. Both the pork and chicken were so dry when you chewed. Very disappointing. Hint: marinate the pork and chicken in sauce rather than pouring the sauce on top of a dish. Do better! Albanian waiter polite and courteous and the staff works super hard....

Scrivo questa recensione come risposta al commento fatto dai proprietari alla recensione del mio ragazzo Chiariamo un paio di punti. Per evitare incomprensioni. Per prima cosa noi abbiamo chiamato più volte per provare a prenotare ma il numero di Google non funzionava, noi abbiamo aspettato volontariamente e volentieri il tempo che serviva per liberare un tavolo, mi sono concentrata sul fatto che mentre ci siamo seduti al tavolo c'era la tovaglia unta e sporca del tavolo precedente(ci avete fatto accomodare voi noi non abbiamo preso nessuna iniziativa) , se permettete una cena di coppia che inizia così non è il massimo. Di norma nella ristorazione il cliente si fa accomodare a tavolo pulito e apparecchiato, piuttosto avremmo aspettato 10 minuti in più senza problemi, come avete detto voi 20-30 o 50 minuti si aspetta, ma si aspetta per avere un servizio decente, non che mi siedo e quando fa comodo mi pulisci il tavolo Noi non pretendiamo che siate dei fulmini ma perlomeno il servizi base.

Grazie della precisazione sul fatto che siete un ristornate e non un fast food ma già lo sapevamo sennò manco vi avremmo preso in considerazione il locale. Non abbiam mangiato male anzi ci siam trovati bene se rilegge la recensione si capisce che non abbiamo parlato male del locale abbiamo solo condiviso la nostra esperienza per quel che è stato. Nulla di inventato.

Penso che dovreste prendervela meno sul personale e accogliere più umilmente i commenti della vostra clientela.

E chiariamo l'ultimo punto non abbiamo messo minimamente in discussione la qualità dei vostri prodotti, le pietanze ordinare ci sono piaciute molto, ma Google vi classifica come un locale con una spesa media di 15-20 euro e valutando ciò che abbiamo ordinato per uscire sazzi avremmo dovuto spendere molto di più che è giusto, ma son 10 giorni che abbiamo fatto tappa fissa in un altro locale che allo stesso prezzo ci ha servito il doppio delle portate allo stesso prezzo con una qualità superiore. E con un servizio tale da meritarsi ogni sera una mancia in più.

A leggere la vostra riposta ci siam rimasti male speriamo che ora abbiate capito che non vi stiamo mettendo un brutta luce, era solo l'umile parere di due clienti che dall'italia hanno deciso tra tutti i locali dell'isola di affidarsi a voi per la cena vista la vostra buona reputazione.
