TAVERNA MARIA — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

My first impression of the taverna was "it's very rustic looking" but I like authentic place's, so I was really hoping the food was going to be the same and I can say with hand on my heart I wasn't disappointed I had the ribs and they were excellent and cooked to perfection, I've had ribs in lots of different places and these I'd rate at the top they were meaty and the meat fell off the bone the owner you could see was full of joy when I expressed my satisfaction, I would highly recommend a visit you won't be disappointed and the service was to match he obviously takes pride in his customers satisfaction in both...

A hidden gem!

Breakfast: scrummy, and we had quite a few different options. They are happy to accommodate variance ie crispy bacon and an extra item etc.

Dinner: Also really nice, again we had different dishes on a few occasions.

The owners are lovely, always chatty and smiling and they work really hard. They also remembered what we drink, the condiments we would have asked for which were set out...

Amazing little restaurant. The second time we have visited (in a week) to have the recommended spare ribs we missed out on the first time around! They are definitely for sharing and the best we have ever tasted. The meat just fell off the bone and the sauce was tangy and delicious ( not the smokey barbque you normally get)! We would come back to Rhodes just for these! Thank you George...
