Zorbas Family Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

I ate here one evening after walking out of another local restaurant nearby due to poor customer service and attention. Totally different here - greeted with a smile as soon as I walked up, shown to a seat and given attentive service throughout. My chicken souvlaki and baklava were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal - a slight delay in bringing my dessert meant that it was given to me complimentary by the lovely waitress when settling up, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. I went back the next day for lunch (chicken gyros, again very tasty and filling), based on the quality of both the food and the service at Zorbas. A highlight...

We got to our table and a few people were smoking next to us which put us off, the server came to take our order but neither of the two that served us were chatty just straight to the point.

We had 3 starters, Dolmades, Egg plant in garlic and feta with honey. The starters were nice but nothing special.

The main meals we had Stifado and two mix grill. The stifado was 95% onions with just 6 meat pieces, the mix grill was huge and enough for two but it was really dry with the absence of a sauce.

The place was almost full, but still there was a table for me on a side, not in the middle of crowds. The place was almost full when I arrived, but almost empty when I left, so I got there in a prime time.

Friendly service, good food. Other tables had a spice basket but mine - I would have liked a little more salt to moussaka.
