Honest, family-run taverna that still has its roots and traditions. They have the most significant grill in Loutro and you can see the chimney rising above the buildings. It's a popular place, so it is a good idea to drop by earlier in the day and make a reservation. We stayed 5 nights in the rooms above the restaurant. They were spotlessly clean, equipped with a modern and quiet air conditioner and a large balcony that was like our living room. We enjoyed the grilled meat and other traditional Cretan food on 7 nights of our stay. Everything we tasted was great: lamb, souvlaki, minced beef, octopus... My wife loved the aubergine salad that was full of grilled aubergine. We felt welcome here every night and you can feel that the multiple generations running the place take pride in it. Also the hired staff is very polite and I'd give an extra mention to the Syrian gentleman working there at least on 2024 season!

The place is amazing!!! If you want to taste traditional Greek food you MUST visit this place. It is just 2 minutes from the beach of loutro and has magnificent views of the sea during daylight as well as beautiful and romantic views of the village at night. It respects the tradition and combines it with a clean and welcoming environment. The service is great and each plate that you ordered arrives at the perfect time! We definitely recommend this place and for sure going back there!!

Very good local restaurants with picturesque view on the bay. It was worth to make 5 minutes walk and stay in the peaceful and calm place far from crowded harbour. I took octopus and even if it was frozen it was good however served with lime, what I don’t like because lime is covering taste of the meal. We had a very good time there. Definitely to be recommended.

A Loutro (Lutró en español) en Creta solo se puede llegar a pie o en barco. ⛵️Inspirados por ese ritmo, llegamos despacito después de una mañana de playa. Caminamos por el puerto que tiene propuestas gastronómicas una al lado de la otra. Depende el momento que llegues estarán más o menos ocupadas. Nos sentamos en una sombra detrás de la iglesia del pueblo y miramos hacia arriba. Así descubrimos esta taberna restaurante atendida por una familia local. Durante muestro almuerzo tenían encendida la barbacoa/parrillero (somos de 🇺🇾 y 🇪🇸) y nos decantamos por probar las costillas a las brasa. No faltó la ensalada. Esta vez de lentejas y unas salchichas/choricitos que estaban bastante buenas. El queso cien por ciento local se pide por su nombre: Galomizithra. 🍴☀️ De yapa/postre: las vistas de la bahía de Loutro desde su terraza (que son inmejorables) y yogur griego con mermelada casera.

Great find in Loutro, away from the busy beach side tavernas. They are very familiar and show a lot of hospitality. The family owned and ran restaurant delivered great dishes. We got some Raki and fruits for free at the end of a delicious meal. Thank you for this culinary pleasure.

For me this was one of the best restaurants in Crete. One of The best Greek salads with Cretan cheese. Very nice grilled meats, they are using local meat and you the tables are close to the grill. Such a beatiful view, such a beautiful atmosphere.
