I wish I had good things to say about this place. Unfortunately the bad overcast the good in my humble opinion.
Upon arriving I asked for a sunbed. I was told by the waitress that they were all taken but that I was welcome to sit at a table and when one became available she would let me know. The waitress also told me there is a minimum spend of 5 euro for the sunbed. I said ok no worries.
Anyway I ordered a drink which was nice enough. About 40 mins later, I noticed 2 sunbeds empty. The waitress forgot to let me know (ohh well theses things happen right? and afterall i was just 1 person easy to forget me), I thought well i better ask if its OK for me to take the one before I settle into it, so I approached her and asked, she said yes that was fine. I moved over to the sunbed, with no drink I'm hand.
She then brought me a menu and said she'd be back in a little while to take my order. Well around 1 hour and 45 mins later (yes that's how long i waited 🤔), still no waitress by this stage I was very overheated as I was sitting in direct sun. So I went over to her and asked for 2 drinks which she brought over fairly promptly. Fine.
About 30mins later I decided to leave. I went to pay, and i was told by a different waitress the total sum to pay, (no bill was provided, I'm certain it's illegal to not provide a bill/receipt in Greece...hmm again) anyway, I wanted to see the bill to check that since I had moved around from table to sunbed, that the bill included everything. Upon checking the bill I noticed a 5 euro fee for the Sun bed. I questioned why this was charged since my minimum spend was over 5 euro, was it a mistake by them?. They proceeded to tell me that the sunbeds was an extra 5 euro. Now I understood very clearly what the initial waitress said. Even the receipt itself said "minimum spend sunbeds 5 euro" (yes i read write and fully comprehend Greek). So why was I being charged another 5 euro. Apparently I misunderstood is what they tried to tell me. Yeah nah, i did not misunderstand. Perhaps your staff is not well informed to advise the correct detail being that all sunbeds cost 5 euro on top of the 5 euro minimum spend. The waitress shouldn't be telling people it's a "5 euro minimum spend" these were her exact words!
So anyway in the spirit of good customer service and keeping the customer happy, they refunded me - haha NO THEY DIDN'T ACTUALLY. I can't believe it. I'm stickler for detail, cannot stand to be deceived.
I want to make sure if you're visiting here you fully understand that there is a 5 euro cost for the sunbed (sure its not alot, but that's not the point, the point is the dishonesty and misrepresentation - that's the point) unfortunately this encounter has led me to post this unsavoury review. Sorry guys, but this time you deserve it. And teach your staff the proper and clear way of communicating the cost of sunbeds. Ffs
As far as the location goes, it's alright, I've seen better, oh and the infinity pool is not an infinity pool, it overlooks an ugly gaggered rock water front. So that's all folks,...
Read moreWhat a fantastic find. We've been to Sifnos 4 times but never really explored Kamares previously. This time we stayed 3 nights there and went to Seven Seas twice. It has the perfect position to view the sunset over Kamares harbour. Absolutely beautiful. (Why bother with Santorini when Sifnos has this?!). September means it was probably a little more quiet than usual. We had Dips, dolmades, chicken breast and shrimp tacos. All delicious and large portions. Cocktails and rosé wine excellent too. I thought it was all great value. I must however make special mention of the wonderful staff here. The bargirl did everything expertly and with a smile and our waitress, Constantina, was so lovely it made our day each time we visited. I would definitely recommend the short walk round the harbour to try this place. Its now firmly on our Sifnos...
Read moreThe pool is beautiful, the view is spectacular. But the music is very very very too loud (more than the beach club at St Tropez in France). It’s impossible to relax (take a nap) or enjoying the sound of the waves. It’s not an ambient music. I still have a headache at the moment (the music choice is pretty cool but too loud). The staff is watching everything (if you want something). If you move the deckchairs, they will come behind you to replace them (even if it’s to have more or less sun). The drinks are quiet expensive but good. The food is tasty. If you are looking for the peaceful side and serenity of sifnos, pass your way (if you want a place like a beach club without the beach but with a good playlist, it’s here). So it’s a beautiful place but not for me (because this is not what I’m looking for with...
