Kelari — Restaurant in Municipality of Sifnos

A hidden gem short walk from Apollonia. Traditional taverna with a beatiful garden. The family who runs it it's a very talkative client service oriented. I had an extraordinary portion of lamb chops, tender and succulent. Not at all greasy and just very small parts where it wad necessary to chew with a little force...and guess what?!... when you chew more you feel the taste better! From my point of view lamb chops can't be eaten with fork and knife. For a delightful experience it's recommended to use your hand directly. The prices are similar if not better compared to other places but the price quality ratio it's rewarding (25 E a kilo of lamb chops, 8-9 E portion of grilled or oven cooked meet, 3-5 E starters, 9 E kilo of house wine). We had dinner at Kelari in Sifnos and really enjoyed the experience. The food was of great quality, full of flavour, and very well cooked. Portion sizes were generous, making it excellent value compared to many other places. The outdoor setting is beautifully done, with a stylish Cycladic feeling that creates a very pleasant atmosphere for dining.

The staff were friendly and professional, though it was clear towards the end of the evening that they were tired. We were the last customers, and while it’s understandable that the team wanted to wrap up and go home, it was a little too obvious that they were waiting for us to leave. A touch more subtlety would have made the ending smoother.

Overall, though, a very good restaurant with delicious food and a lovely environment — definitely...

Beautiful place. We went there on a recommendation and it was truly worth it. We had one of the best meals whilst in the island.

It's great to see a family run restaurant being able to provide such high quality of service and food. Although it's not by the beach it is definitely worth driving there, specially as a dinner option. The food was very well prepared with thr lamb chops being the highlight of the meal. We tried a few of the other traditional preparations and everything seemed to be carefully prepared and very well executed. Service was quick and efficient and most importantly with a smile.
