The tavern is excellently located, in a beautiful place, on the seashore, near the port. the staff almost kind, but no one came to welcome you. After waiting for someone to give us information, we made the decision to go and have a table. it was around 6 pm..The tavern was almost empty. for the boy I ordered a schnitzel, my wife ordered mussels with rice, I ordered grilled octopus and my daughter grilled vegetables. Everything was served super quickly and at the same time (an extraordinary thing for Nikiti where, during the 8 days we stayed at any tavern, we were not offered food at the same time, everything being served in turn and at fairly large intervals of time). The boy was relatively happy but his schnitzel was very dry. The rice with mussels was ok but not wow. My daughter ate some grilled (reheated) vegetables. And my grilled octopus was only a tentacle, by no means a whole octopus. It was cooked before, being slightly cold even after reheating. The skin on the tentacle was sticky and came down strangely. Impossible to organize yourself to have everything ready when in less than 7 minutes from placing the order everything was served at once. There was no way to make the schnitzel and the fried potatoes at the same time with the octopus and the grilled vegetables. Anyway, the cats in the area who ate the octopus tentacle were the happiest. The most disappointing tavern I ate at during my...
Read moreThere is only one word to describe this place: disgusting. I was looking forward to ordering fish, but the moment I saw how the staff was handling the fish I had a safe bet with the chicken fillet, the fish is on a display in the front, and the waiters just open the display and with bare hands (that have not been washed while serving and touching their phone all the time to take orders) they just grab the fish, put it on a tray and dry their fishy and slimy hands on a cloth above the display( that is used by all). The other disgusting thing is that the bread they serve you, when you go to the bathroom, it’s just sitting on the floor, not even covered. The food is absolutely average, the most bland and dry chicken fillet I have eaten in my life, the chips were fried in old oil, which you could easily taste. The staff is disoriented, there were people waiting for 15 minutes just for the check. I don’t recommend, especially if you want to eat something...
Read moreGood food with a broad menu.
My wife had calamari, and I had bifteki. Both were good, but the calamari was better, I felt the bifteki tasted slightly burnt (not much at all just slightly charcoaly, but my wife disagreed with me, so I'm not sure).
As with all other places they but bread and water on the table and add it to your bill (1.80€ for bread and 2€ for water, don't get mad it's standard practice down here), however when I said i didn't want bread we still got charged for it. Maybe a mistake, but i didn't voice it.
Service was not bad, just very pragmatic. It didn't appear to be a language barrier, just a general disinterested vibe. It was also quite late, so maybe that was the reason. My wife ordered grill squid but got fried but we...
