Nikiti Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Sithonia

This review is NOT about the beach itself, but about the tourists and a lifeguard on it.

The dog you see on the first photo was drowned minutes later, literally a few meters away from swimmers AND a lifeguard(!). None of them helped the dog, that was loosing it's life in front of them!! Not one of them even cared to check if the dog was ok. The dog was extracted to the beach by a woman, that was just passing by!!! But it was too late... After the asked questions, the lifeguard answered "I haven't been trained for dog saving/CPR".. The others didn't say a word, they're just looking around..

@tourists: have a pleasant stay for the rest of your vacations, knowing you could save a life and did nothing about it!!

@lifeguard: change your job, you're at least unqualified to...

The beach itself is beautiful — golden sand, crystal sea, everything you would expect to be perfect. But… it’s covered with cigarette butts, napkins, bottle caps, and other plastic waste. It is extremely dirty, and the responsibility lies with both the tourists and the sunbed owners, who never seem to clean.

When I started picking up trash around me, other tourists stared at me as if I were an alien, or pretended not to notice at all. It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful place turned into a garbage-filled tourist spot.

I love Greece deeply and wish I could preserve it as I remember it 20–30 years ago — with clean waters, pristine beaches, and...

City beach, good for late quick afternoon swim of you are situated in Nikiti. Overcrowded, mostly noisy, full of people who have no basic behaviour knowledge - bluetooth music, shouting, trash, cigarette leftovers, "reserved" spots from the house owners.. Beach itself looks quite muddy, with the dark looking water and sharp rocks at the entrance in the water, so i strongly reccomend a kind of water footwear. There is an entrance in the water for the invalides wich is excellent 👏 Street along the beach (the main walking street) is turned into a parking lot, so you might find it hard...
