Ο Γύρος της Νικήτης — Restaurant in Municipality of Sithonia

My partner and I visited Nikiti early September and ate on several occasions at Ο Γύρος της Νικήτης (O Gyros Tis Nikitis) as we found this as great place to have lunch.

The food was delicious and the portions here are well sized. We tried the pork gyros on a plate initially and we both struggled to finish the entire dish. The tzatziki we has as a sauce on the side was also delicious. For lunch we found that the gyros in pitta was a popular option. On all occasions we ate here, i tried getting a chicken gyros but every time i was told that there is no chicken option readily available and if requested it would required a long waiting time. As a result we defaulted for the pork gyros. This was not a huge inconvenience for us, but can see it as problematic for someone who is looking specifically for the chicken.

The service was okay, with the servers being prompt when taking the orders and bringing out the food. However, we are disappointed with the payment method. We paid by cash as well as by card, and in both instances we did not receive an itemized bill nor a VAT receipt. If you pay by card we have also noticed a detectible increase in the overall price compared to the prices available in the menu. This would have not been an issue if an itemised bill was provided or if we were told a service charge would be included to the bill. Given the situation, one can only imagine that paying by card is penalised with...

That's our last night in Greece after a 10 days trip around this wonderful country. We decided to end our experience here with a gyros, which is kind of normal dish you can find almost everywhere here. Well, it was a blast! We took 2 gyros on a plate, a tzatziki with some pita and something to drink. Very honest with prices and conditions, but believe, portions for gyros have been insane... The plates were so big and really tasty, and we really enjoyed our last meal. I definitely recommend to give them a chance if you're passing...

The food and service were both ok. Portion sizes were quite large. When we got the food, we asked for some mayonaise on the side. This was however brought to us after we had almost finished our meal. Also, we got a huge bowl, way too much for the couple of fries we had left. Not that it wouldn’t have been too much if we’d gotten it earlier, as can be seen on the picture.
