I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taverna Kivotos and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's tasteful decor and soft lighting created a cozy ambiance that made me instantly feel comfortable.

The service at Taverna Kivotos was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and made sure that all our needs were met throughout the evening. Their attention to detail truly enhanced the dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish that arrived at our table was a masterpiece. The flavors were expertly balanced, and the presentation was visually stunning. The menu offered a wide range of options, and it was evident that the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. The standout dishes for me were the “bourata spaghetti and “ Εβριστον με Προσουτο “, which were bursting with flavor and beautifully plated.

Furthermore, I appreciated that Taverna Kivotos catered to different dietary preferences. They had a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options that were just as delicious as their non-vegetarian counterparts. It's always great to see a restaurant that caters to a diverse range of tastes and dietary needs.

In terms of value for money, Taverna Kivotos exceeded my expectations. The portion sizes were generous, and considering the quality of the food and service, I felt that the prices were reasonable.

We stumbled upon this charming place completely by chance. What immediately caught our eye, mine and my mother’s, was the tempting description written on the blackboard outside: ‘Musaka Spezial’. And we thought: why not? 🌸

We absolutely loved the atmosphere – the location offers a breathtaking view, with cozy tables right on the beach. At sunset, the water glitters while Mount Athos rises beautifully in the background – a truly magical setting. The staff was wonderfully welcoming, kind, and patient. We had several questions about the menu and received detailed, thoughtful answers, always with a smile.

When our food arrived, of course… we were beyond delighted! 🤩 The dishes were delicious, the service quick, and the presentation elegant and full of taste.

I noticed in the reviews that some people were not so happy… but everyone has their own karma 🤭. For us, it was an amazing, flavorful, and joyful experience, and we’ll definitely return whenever we get the chance.

The prices are indeed higher than elsewhere, but the food and service were on par.

Picture the tiniest fish fillet you can imagine. Now, cut that in half. Then cut that in half. And then,divide it by six. Voilà, you have the sea bass I was served. I tried to keep a straight face as I stared at the tiny portion nestled in the takeaway box, thinking :Okay, it must taste like the best fish in the world to justify this. It didn’t. Just ordinary fish. Nothing special. I guess you need a certain kind of confidence to charge 25 euros for something barely bigger than my finger. Bold move.

On the bright side, the salad was a solid win. Fresh leaves and carrots with a seasoning that could make anything taste good. And the grilled shrimp? Those were decent, 6 big ones,(though, they kept their shells on).

As for the restaurant itself, it had a lovely vibe. The staff was super friendly and even offered us something while we waited for our takeaway, but we politely declined. Despite their kindness, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being slightly bamboozled by the fish situation. So, I ended up passing the little fish fillet onto a very charming cat. Moral of the story: Always ask about the weight of your fish after it's cooked before you order, or you might end up trading goods...
